Sunset Garden

After the sunset dropped behind the hill to the west on its way to sink into the Pacific Ocean, I stepped out back to water the terrace garden.
The Mayflower roses are blooming. They approve of the spot I planted them, taking them out of the large pot where they had lived in Los Angeles and also through the winter here in Camarillo.

The surprise iris I discovered by the compost bin is opening its petals. I am looking forward to discovering exactly what color it has decided to be this spring.

And to make this spring day a happy, happy one despite thinking about taxes, I have the wonderful news that Kiti is bringing The Boy to visit--tomorrow!

Willow,

All of your blooms are beautiful. The surprise iris looks very much like the one that I have that is different shades of brown. It really surprised me as well. I have never seen that color iris except in the gardens of my grandmother, mother and myself. The original toe would be about 100 years old now.

Please be sure to let me know what color it is when it blooms. Very interesting.

Blessings,
Mary

I hope you had a good visit today!! I'm sure you did. And your flowers are absolutely stunning! I wish I could smell them! I have no roses or irises in my yard right now and they are both a couple of my favorite flowers! So I have to enjoy your photos! Thanks :)
