Into Our Second Week

Barbara has posted more photos of our wonderful time visiting her and her husband in Essex. Scroll down to my previous post and click on the link to see us at her home. We loved being there and seeing Essex through her eyes. Yes, Essex is a beautiful place!

We are now staying with a long time friend (but non blogger) from Papua days. We are whizzing around London on the tube, seeing so many places. Today we visited Chelsea Physic Garden. Oh! Wait until you see the photos of this amazing garden that was first created in 1686!

Tomorrow Chaplain Dan, The Princess, The Professor, our friend and I are going to Canterbury, another of the places we decided we wanted to revisit after our England trip in 2004. Then, we will be two days in Oxford, Sunday with our friend, then Monday--to Heathrow.

Come back next week for photos!

I hope you have a wonderful time in my home town. Try the Botanic Garden by Magdalen Bridge (pronounced Maudlin);the CS Lewis Nature Reserve in Risinghurst(just east of the ringroad); or a drink where the Inklings sat (Tolkien et al.) in "The Lamb and Flag" in St Giles. They did used to drink in "The Eagle and Child" over the road before switching pubs. The Ashmolean Museum is wonderful and the Natural History museum. It's main entrance didn't get finished by the stone masons because of an unpaid bill. Could've been worse one medieval bursar was imortalised picking his nose high on a college wall. LOL I so so hope you have a wonderful time. Blenheim Palace 7 miles away in Woodstock isn't bad either.

Oh how lovely to visit England. I will visit your blog again and read more about your trip. My husband and I spent a few weeks there years ago and fell in love with Cornwall and its villages, and the Tate's PreRaphaelite paintings, among other treasure.

I'm guessing you are home right about now. I think I know how you feel, too. I'm pretty brain dead from the weekend and the 17 hour trip across Cali, Oregon and Wa. I'm guessing you feel sorta like that. Looking forward to some England photos soon!!
