A Thankful Month Days 20, 21, and 22

It seems that I am able to sit down for extended periods of time at my laptop every two or three days, so I am combining my Thanksgiving posts for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Again.

1. I'm thankful that I found a way to archive old print negatives. Ritz Camera carries 'sleeves' that are designed to hold several negative sets per page. Buying some of the packets was my first step for organizing many years (think more than 100 years!) of photos and negatives.

2. I am very thankful that a rather busy school week is over and I'm now on Thanksgiving vacation for one whole week and two weekends!

3. I am also thankful that our community has a fantastic farmers market that is open year round. The Professor went this morning to purchase fresh, local green beans, onions, salad mix and spinach.

I want to share two photos of flowers that are blooming in my neighborhood this month.

Frangipani is the Malay/Indonesian name for plumeria.

Poinsettias grow large and bushy in our mediterranean climate. These blooms are growing on a bush at least eight feet high. When I first moved to Southern California I was shocked to see little Christmas house plants growing outside, in the garden, big and tall.

Enjoy your weekend!

I never knew that Frangipani was Plumeria! It's beautiful. Smells lovely too. Mine is over the blooming stage and is just big, beautiful green leaves now.

Enjoy your wonderful Thanksgiving week off....it's great they are giving a whole week off these days. When we were in school it was only two days.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Willow.

I'm so glad you posted about your poinsettias because ours lasted all through the summer and I think it will come back for this Christmas! We didn't know if they were annuals or perennials! I'm glad you have a break! Enjoy it! And I'm glad you found negative sleeves. It's good to know they still exist!
