FFF Short and Sweet

After a very busy week, I haven't much time to plan a Friday Fave Five post. Even so, I find it refreshing to review Willow's Week and focus on my favorite moments.
1. Time spent with MamaMia included a quick trip to Old Town Ventura and lunch at a little restaurant that is becoming a favorite, Nature Cafe. On the menu, we spied an interesting sandwich: portobello mushroom, tomato, white cheese. We declared it a winner!

2. A hike up Lookout Trail along the ridge above the Pacific Ocean.
3. Running in to special Los Angeles friends who just happened to be camping in Sycamore Canyon and saw us walking through the campground on our way to the trail head.
4. I finished knitting two projects this week. One FO is not bloggable yet :) Photos later. The other project is knitted but not yet felted. It will become a new purse for me.
5. The internet has provided several hours of information finding and reading this week as I have been reading up on a couple of my personal interests. It's amazing that so much information is so easily available!

Join in the blessings of Friday Fave Five by dropping by Susanne's blog!

What were the highlights of YOUR week?

Isn't it the truth!? We truly have the world at our fingertips these days! There is NOTHING we can't research on a moments notice. Our Vicar brings his laptop to Bible study with us, and whenever we want clarification of what a word meant in it's original text - BAM! He's got it for us! And other questions that come up -- it's really just amazing!

Sounds like you have had a busy - but FUN week! :) That sandwich sounds good! I am very drawn to portobella mushroom sandwiches ... but they are RARELY as "healthy" as one would expect! LOL!

What a fun FFF! That little cafe sounds good, though I am not a mushroom fan.

I especially like #3!

Time spent with your girl is always a favourite - and the sandwich sounds yummy!

The view from Lookout Trail is stunning - you know me and ocean shots.

Congratulations on your knitting projects. Wish I was close enough to take a lesson or two. I'm going to pull out my project very soon - I've been working on it for 2 years - a scarf. I don't think I, or anyone else, will ever wear it. But it serves its main purpose - it keeps me from snacking in the evenings :)

Happy weekend Willow!

What beautiful scenery! Truly breathtaking.

I've been known to quote that "Google is your best friend" to my kids and hubby. LOL. But truly it is amazing that one can look up virtually anything without ever going out of the house.

Beautiful view on your hike! I've been knitting a pair of socks for two years. (sigh) I'm impressed by those who knit and actually finish their projects.

so glad you had some good times with Mama Mia. What a kick to run into someone you know in the campground. Hope your weekend is relaxing...

What a beatiful view! I've never done a hike since college, I really wish one of these days I could hike again. The internet is one thing about our age that's hard to imagine living without. I saw a knitting shop in a big mall here. It's Willow I thought while walking by and admiring the products :)

Loved your pictures and brevity. What a beautiful place you live and how wonderful to be able to hike and enjoy the beauty of nature. Nice to meet you. I love your name is it really Willow? Weeping Willows are my favorite trees, they are so beautiful.

I do sometimes wonder what I did to get info before the WWW. LOL

Looking forward to seeing your felted purse and knitting.

I totally agree with you about the internet. Sometimes it just boggles my mind to realize all that is at our fingertips. Of course, I had to wipe a bit of drool off my keyboard from reading about that sandwich before I could type this note!!!

The picture is gorgeous! Wish I could see it live.
I love the blessing of the internet too. So much information in one 'little' place, our computers.

I'm looking forward to reading your posts about your knitting projects completed. And how wonderful to have such scenery to view as you hike. It would almost make me strap on my hiking boots.

Love your FFF posts and hearing about your week. I've never spent any time in Ventura although I must have driven past it hundreds of times. I've heard there are some nice restaurants and that sandwich sounds wonderful!

PS You were right the first time. Santa Monica mountains - just above Las Flores Canyon which is where we live.

I didn't get to participate in FFF this week, but wanted to drop in and say hi.

I loved the picture of Lookout Trail. It's gorgeous!

Short and sweet and delightful.

I am celebrating coming back to the realm of cooking! yey! Although I have yet to attempt the carrot top recipe.

What sort of white cheese was it? That sandwich contains 2 of my top 3 ingredients - cheese and mushroom, the last being crab, at a stretch, shellfish. Dare I ask for a (reproduced) recipe?

I think your hike and time with Mom sounds wonderful, as does The Nature Cafe. Have a lovely weekend, xxx.

Sounds like a productive knitting week.

Isn't the internet amazing? What did we ever do without it? I don't even want to remember!

For not having time to plan a post, this was a GREAT one! The view of the ocean is spectacular!

How fun to run into friends without planning on it! And the cafe sounds delightful!

Good to check out your FAVE Five...
Isn't it wonderful when you can say you did something for yourself this week? I've been gone from my computer for a month, and I just needed to get back and work on some new albums...
Guess what? I'm picking up those knitting needles again and making myself a simple scarf, while I sit and watch some sporting events.
