Friday's Fave Five, Thanksgiving Weekend

I am confident that all American FFF participants are going to include Thanksgiving Day festivities in their post today. Not wanting to break the trend, I will focus my FFFs on Thanksgiving Day 2009.
1. Our alarms rang early! We were up and on the road to Balboa Park in San Diego. The starting line was here:

Museum of Man

2. We walked with thousands of our best friends!

3. and four of our Best Friends Forever! The Father Joe's Thanksgiving Day 5K Run!

4. Dinner at MamaMia's. We had earned it! There was no turkey on the menu, but we enjoyed barbecued salmon and a pot roast. Mashed potatoes, beans, apple and pumpkin pies, etc, etc...

5. Skyping and talking with our family who couldn't make the trip to the rendevouz point near the California-Mexico border. Building memories of Thanksgiving Day 2009.

What did you do to make memories this week? Share them at Living To Tell The Story!

Wow! A very unusual way to do Thanksgiving Day but it sounds like a great way to enjoy the fine weather we had. You actually earned that big meal :-)

Thanks for the warm welcome to FFF. I enjoy "meeting" new people this way.
I guess you had a really healthy Thanksgiving and burned off the calories, before you even ate. :)

Well good for you guys doing that run! Nice that you've got great weather for it.

BBQ'd salmon & pot roast for thanksgiving is different but sure sounds delicious! I think I would miss the dressing and gravy though. LOL.

Love Skype.

Way to go...what better way than to run it off first and then enjoy the wonderful supper treat.

At first I couldn't see the walkers. Ah there you all are! :) A healthy activity to do on thanksgiving is always great. And keeping in touch with friends too is a sweet memory to add. Happy thanksgiving.

What I'm most Thankful for are my family and friends....
So glad you had a fun outing.

Your dinner sounds wonderful, and a little healthier than those of us who consumed fattening seven layer salad and green bean casserole along with the turkey.

I, of course, highly approve of the way you started your Thanksgiving Day. I didn't run all week, and it made me feel a little guilty. A 5K sounds just perfect.

Salmon for turkey.. not a bad trade if you ask me. :-)

Isn't technology amazing now the way we can stay connected when distance separates us?!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving day!
