Golden Opportunity

I realize that I'm in the minority, but I like Christmas Fruitcake.
And the fruitcake I like best is this golden one.

Lots of nuts and even more fruit. Lemon extract. Apricot brandy.
Stirred, baked, and mailed to me with love.

Flower and I love our fruitcake!

You're right, I'm sure you're in the minority. Fruitcake always looks so pretty and festive. I wish I liked it!

Willow my dear sweet friend. I just can't stand Fruit cake and this picture is one reason why. It's so ugly looking and it just tastes so bad. Now please don't take this wrong, but it's been coming up on my blog quite a bit since I asked the question if people liked Fruit Cake on Aloha Friday. So I had to borrow your link and post it in a comment to show them another reason I don't like it. LOL You are a life saver my friend :)

Fruitcake - for me, it's not so much a festive treat as a state of mind.

Ohhhhhh a minority indeed! My mother liked it too. And sOMebody always sent her a BIG ENORMOUS ring of fruitcake... and she would spend the rest of the winter trying to get some of us to eat some!!! My poor mother - she had 7 children and not ONE of us liked fruitcake!

But my grandparents - her parents - lived in St. Petersburg, FL... *nods* ... and THEY sent a crate of oranges and grapefruit every winter! OH YUM! We had NO problem polishing off THAT fruit! LOL!

I do hope you enjoy your fruitcake - a little piece with coffee each morning? Or with tea in the afternoon?

Cetainly looks delicious. I like these golden ones too. Alan likes the dark ones full of dried fruit and nuts and spirit etc.
This year we are over loaded as not only do I have an unopened Christmas cake but a very large Golden wedding cake to get through.

I was living on fruitcake while I was still in the womb! Love it! Following you from Ramblings from an English Garden.
