Fave Five

Friday Fave Five
This weekly event is hosted by Susanne.  I appreciate her faithfulness to share FFF with everyone.  Thanks, Susanne!  If you want to know more about Friday Fave Five, check it out HERE.

1. Lovely homegrown roses from a student's (mom's) garden.
A thank you gift

2. Willow loves lavender!
The first cuttings from the newest member of the lavender plant family in my garden.

3. The end of the school year.  Because I work with homeschool students, I don't follow the public school schedule.  This week, we finished the writing classes and my tutoring lessons.  Summer break has begun!

4. In celebration of the end of his school year and mine, The Professor and I met after meetings on Tuesday and enjoyed an hour of coffee and conversation.  This has always been one of our favorite little dates, and we try to get out for our coffee dates regularly.

5. On Thursday, I spent a couple of hours at my friend T's home.  Her backyard square foot garden (Garden Three) was featured in the local garden tour last month.  Before we settled down to do a declutter session, she showed me around the garden so I could see how much the veggies have grown. I love how T combines flowering annuals and vegetables to create a bright vibrant color palette.  Her garden is a feast for both eyes and mouth!

I've shared my faves for the week.  What are yours?

Congratulations for completing another school year. We get out on June 17th.

You're friends garden looks very pretty. That's a nice idea to mix flowers and vegetables.

Were you going to de-clutter her garden?

Yippee! Your summer vacation has arrived!! Hope you get revived, rejuvenated and restored and that you can throw in a lot of adventures along the way. Love the garden and the roses.

I've been really interested in square foot gardens. But I have little time to do one. So my gardening adventure this year is planting tomatoes in a Topsy Turvy planter!

Coffee dates seem like a good idea to keep connected with your spouse.

You are blessed to have the summer off. Enjoy!

This is lovely! I cannot get lavender to grow well here, but it's so nice to see others who can. :D

That rose is breathtaking. I love the colors in it. Lavender is fun to work around. The bugs won't bother you. I was just out weeding the lavender planted around my mailbox this afternoon. Your coffee date with the Professor sounds heavenly. Hope it's one of many this summer.

Coffee dates are wonderful. And coffee shops always smell so cozy.

I have not used much fresh lavender, but I see it here and there, I should try some out.

It looks like you must be winding down soon again.
Keep enjoying those coffees with the professor. That's the favorite thing to do.
Your lavender is beautiful.

One of my faves was the end of the school year, too. My son's last day was today. I am so looking forward to not setting alarm clocks!

That rose is gorgeous!

The coffee date sounds fun.

Lavender and Roses...what could be more beautiful than that?? What wonderful faves, dear Willow! And congrats on completing the school year! I didn't realize you worked with Home School students...maybe, you told me and I've just forgotten...but I think that's terrific! Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! Love, Janine XO

Yeah, another school year done! That rose is a spectacular color. What a lovely gift from your student.

Coffee dates are always my favorite too. We live within a few blocks of a Starbuck's and it's nice just to take a walk over there with hubby and then enjoy a coffee.

How nice to get roses from a student, they look stunning! Can't wait to see and smell lavender, mine is going to bloom soon and in two weeks we're off to France where we're going to see the lavender fields. It might be a little bit early for full blooming fields though, we'll see! That little garden of your friend looks lovely. Enjoy your Summer vacation Willow!
