Technology Gadgets Are My Friends

Welcome to Friday Fave Five!  Because I am on a weekend trip with The Professor, I can't post photos until we arrive at our destination.  However, I can still post a FFF.  If you would like to join in and post your faves, link them to Susanne's blog Living to Tell the Story.

I love technology that helps me!

1.  Our phones have internet access!  I can check my email in the car!

2.  Latitude.  It's an app on my phone.  We used it to monitor our progress toward our overnight destination.  How cool it was to watch our little icon move along Hwy 101 North and eventually meet up with our son's icon on his campus.

3.  Our car.  Even though it registers 170,000 miles on the odometer, it's still reliable for a 1400 mile round trip. Yeah, it's a weekend trip, but it's worth it.

4.  I can post this FFF from my son's uber fast uber cool computer.

5.  A student needed some papers and I am able to email them in an attachment to her.  That is SO much easier for both of us!

That's Willow's Week, short and sweet.  How was yours?

Technology does make a lot of things easy. It's been awhile since I held a marker at work. A remote control has replaced it. I love what latitude app does.

I'm having some phone envy here, I'm waiting for the day when we can get internet access on our phones. I feel like we really "need" it, but my husband wants to wait a little. Coming soon though!

Technology is definately a friend.

Luddite that I am, I miss my Sony Walkman. I do admire people who embrace the new technology. I make the occasional effort, but it just doesn't seem to want to hug me back.

Yes, indeed! Modern technology. So why do I FIGHT it tooth and nail? I insist my phone remain a phone! And sometimes I wish it wasn't even mobile! But other times it is a BLESSING and a SUPER convenience. I'm sure one day... when I finally give in to allowing my phone to be my computer as well that I will say the same thing about IT! They are certainly life changing!

I love technology as well. What a blessing to live in the age that we do!

It's hard to imagine what we did without technology, isn't it?

That latitude app sounds totally cool. I however, have a basic "dinosaur" model of phone. :vD

So... what kind of car do you have that it's still going strong with that many miles??? I just got a Droid X which is like a mini-laptop to me! I can actually check emails now too (and keep track of my kids better!). I fought off technology for so long, it's nice to finally embrace it!

You're right -- some technology really does make everything easier! Now if only it could grade stacks of essays for me...

I often wonder how people ever got anything done without techonology... we're too dependent on it I think, but it is wonderful.

That's quite a distance for a weekend trip but I'm sure you're all enjoying being together. :)

I think the vote is in technology wins at saving time. I still would rather getting snail mail than email.

Oh don't you just love fast computers. to think I built a web site and uploaded it on dial up.

I love technology, too. I don’t have internet access on my phone though; I’m jealous.

Isn't it great having so many options of things to do and ways to stay connected now, whether we’re at home or not? Hope you enjoy your trip.

Where would we be without technology right now!!
For researching there is nothing like the internet.

Latitude sounds so cool!

I love that helping with papers by sending attachments. I do that for my college sons all the time.

Have a great week!

I don't have Internet access on my phone yet, but I am due for an upgrade. :-) With my last phone I just wanted one that would make calls, but now I want a camera, too! I am so glad for the benefits of today's technology.

This is a great list! I take technology for granted, as I don't understand at ALL how it works. I guess that means I should be extra grateful:)

Our next phone will have net access! Hubby's work cell does have it, but for some reason we have trouble using it for email--odd. Getting iPhone next time! While we were away just lately, it was great being able to have online access when when had time or needed it. All these advances sure makes it all easier! Something I strive towards is going more paper less... Which is hard, because I've always had a love of papery things--notebooks, drawing in sketch books, I'm a constant list-maker, note-keeper... But gotta save the trees! ;o) Hope you had a great trip, Willow! I owe you and email! ((HUGS))
