A Pleasant Surprise

Ok.  This has to be my BIG FIRST fave five this week.  Blogger allowed me to upload this photo:

I decided to try adding a photo tonight figuring, "What do I have to lose?  If I can't upload a photo, I'll click where directed to read up on my options."  Imagine my shock when the photo simply and easily uploaded!

I love looking at this picture of the fishing boat which was cruising (do fishing boats cruise?) off the coast of Faria Beach State Park because it reminds me of all the wonderful sunny days I have spent at beaches around the world from Oregon and California to Florida to England to Indonesia.  And if you know me, you know I love the beach.

Secondly, blogger allowed me to upload this:

This is the Plain Vest from Pickles website's list of free patterns which I mentioned in a FFF post two weeks ago.  I chose to experiment with a second photo and added this vest because it makes me think excitedly about my plans for next week when I'll be spending a few days in that wonderful city of San Diego, visiting my daughter and son-in-law and attending the baby shower for their friends' new little girl who will be born soon and hopefully wear this little pink vest when she's about a year old.  Isn't it just the cutest thing?

Because I'm not one for pushing my luck, I think I'll stop with the uploading photos.  I have NO IDEA why these photos were allowed to be uploaded tonight.  But I'm not complaining.

Now then.  Third Fave Five.  Last week, The Professor commented that he was surprised that I had not mentioned an important event from our week.  I replied that I had hinted at it when I added the little phrase about selling a big item via Craig's List.  Well.  We bought a car and then sold our old one.  Truly, it should be a fave because I do love my newer Honda CR-V, my little Silver Bullet.  Better gas mileage.  21,000 miles.  Higher visibility.  And most important of all, our bike rack will fit on the back without sagging and scraping the pavement whenever we hit a low spot (once we get the hitch installed).  Maybe, just maybe, this will be the last car I ever have to purchase.  One can dream...

When I logged on to a clothing website yesterday to check sizing for a pair of slacks I wanted, I discovered to my great delight that the slacks are ON SALE for HALF PRICE right now!  And free shipping!  So I bought myself a pair of summer slacks.

Last, Spring Break!  Two weeks off!  That says it all.

That's my Fave Five for Willow's Week.   Did you have any fun and exciting surprises?  Do tell.  If you want, you can link to Susanne's blog HERE.

I like your week and your photos. I use windows writer for uploading my photss. It works very well. I have a few fishing boat pictures on my blog this week as well. It's the first time I have really been able to get out on the beach this year.

It's all magic - these computers. Maybe it's a favorable phase of the moon or you spoke the right sylables in the right order before you began the upload. I don't think there's a rational explanation. Just glad whatever it was worked.

Adore the vest!

Hooray for the new car!

Congratulations on your new baby!! ;) I'm sure it's pretty (the car)! You just had to mention the beach... I am so jealous right now!! I love the West coast beaches... prettier than the East coast. You might try saving your photos as smaller jpegs... don't know if it's the size that's giving you problems but it's worth a look. Happy Weekend and Spring Break!!!

Hi Willow,
I used to have a Rav-4, TOyota's version. I loved it!! One of the best cars I've owned.
Hugs!

Hurray hurray for all your five faves, Willow! It doesn't look like you post really big photos so I was surprised when you wrote about running out of space. Maybe Blogger has increased their photo limits. When I began blogging aboug six years ago, the host's limit was 10mb -- which equates to about four or five photos now a days!

Anyway, I'm glad you can post again. The little vest is super cute. I do love little girl clothes. Enjoy your spring break!

Ha, ha, How fun to get photos again. Now that I think about it, I had trouble with blogger several years ago for awhile. I didn't get that message that you got, but it just wouldn't load. I haven't had much trouble since then.

I love the vest pattern, and that color is my favorite!

SO glad your photos are back! The vest is sweet - I have thought about that pattern for our little anticipated "new" granddaughter. I appreciate your direction to Minimalist Knitter in one of your past blogs. I'm getting very anxious to get to our own lovely beaches when the warm weather arrives -- your year-round views are great. Mary P

Glad you’re able to get pictures up again! And congrats on getting a car with better gas mileage. Our gas prices are so horrible here; I wish we got better gas mileage on my older CR-V.

Have a great weekend!

Yay! You got your photo capability back. I LOVE the little vest. I'll have to check out that website for patterns. It sounds like you got a great Honda CRV. My daughter has one and she loves hers. Have a great week, Willow. And thanks for letting me know about the broken link. Sometimes I get an extra bit added to the addy on Mr. Linky days and I haven't figured out why. I've put a correct link in but now I can't figure out how to delete the other one. Sigh!

The vest looks so simple but cute.

I wonder why you have not been able to upload photos.

Yes I have plan for my embroidery which has been in operation for about 2 years. It's nestling in a basket by the side of one of the sofas!

Hi Willow,
I think you will find that fishing boats trawl so long as it has some form of fishing implement in the water while it is moving. Otherwise it probably is cruising.

The little vest is too cute. makes me want to break out the knitting needles. Too bad I decluttered all my yarn. So for the needles have survived the cut.

I hope the new car is a champion for you and that your photos keep uploading and you enjoy spring break when it arrives.

That little vest looks like good winter beach-wear for the little one!

Congrats on the car. (A man WOULD think of that.)

Glad your pictures are working again!
