More Zoo

The Tropical Rain Forest area reminded me of the jungles of Indonesia where we lived.

I've always been fascinated with gorillas.

I wonder if they're fascinated with me.

Birds blend in to their surroundings.

Adult male homo sapiens in their natural habitat.

Young ones play and pretend to be stomped by the elephant statue.

How could anyone be bored at the San Diego Zoo?

I love the San Diego Zoo! It is also a wonderful botanical garden too as there are many mature trees and shrubs and flowers there.

PS I do hope you get to see the Brooklyn Botanic Garden ..and right next door to the parking lot if The Brooklyn Museum which I've written often about.

The garden donates the produce it produces to charity ..probably local soup kitchens

Did you save that kid or did you just let that elephant step on him?!
Gorillas are very interesting especially when they are on the other side of plexiglass or a moat or something....
King Kong did me in when I was little so I'd never want to meet one in the wild...

Oh, that picture of the homo sapiens made me laugh! I always wonder how many amazing things you've seen in Indonesia. You're probably the most interesting person I know! ;)

Wonderful scenes from the zoo, Willow. I smiled at your photo depicting the homo sapiens especially. The birds in the nest shot was fantastic.

I've always been fascinated by gorillas and it looks like I have photos of the identical pair.
Sounds like you had the perfect birthday for the Professor.
But I have to admit, I have never seen a Koala bear before and they are so cute...guess what? I fell for the photo shot in that place...
I usually avoid tourist traps..but me and my daughter smiled and said, "Why Not?"
