September Knitting Fun

I did knit a lot in September while I wasn't writing on my blog.  Twenty-four hats.

Oh, it was fun. I just cast on 72, 80, or 88 stitches and commenced working round after round after round.  Then eventually I would decrease for the crown and presto! Another hat.
The reasons for my knitting all these hats are three-fold.  I am on a mission to use up my yarn stash.  I sell my knitted items and donate the proceeds to THIS organization.  And in early December, any unsold hats I send to a group in a cold climate to give as Christmas gifts to kids who need warm hats.  It's a win-win-win situation.

Another benefit of all this, it's just fun.  Normally, my favorite color is not orange, but I really like these.  Oh yeah, aren't they fun?

A impressive stack of hats there, Willow. I can see that you didn't just go "round after round": there are some fancy patterns in there, too. Diamonds, stripes...I'd like to see the hats all one by one.
I do not knit or crochet (to my grandma's disappointment) but I am a great fan. I am going to post some baby hat photos soon from my granddaughter's collection.

OK...I have been going to the knitting group...last night I had to take it all apart..and start over. they are retraining me to knit with my right hand not my left...so now my job is to work on dish cloths...but your tukes have inspired me and I love your idea about using up old yarn and so I might just have some more fun as I try to think about my right hand...too funny...

What great results from having fun, Willow:) Thanks for posting! I am crocheting an orange pumpkin just for fun although I am not overly fond of orange, I especially like it at this time of year, and I wanted a little decoration that won't mold:)

Knitting in the round is my favorite! You accomplished far more than I did this September!
