Road Trip! Day 2

Breakfast in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Macy's Euro Cafe.  The. Best. Coffee.  The vegan waffle and the granola were also excellent.  And the company? Perfect--Son #1 The Chaplain and Wonderful Daughter-in-Law.

Back on the road.  Highway 40 East with forays along Route 66.

Standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona

Five hundred miles today.  We drove through basin and range country, mesa lands.

Rio Puerco Bridge, built in 1933.

Then, east of Albuquerque, we encountered strong winds and a dust storm.

The wind is still blowing, but we are tucked in safely at our night's lodging.

Oh, a road trip, and on Route 66, and a dust storm for added excitement with loved ones as a reward for your venturing! Wonderful!!! Thanks for posting! I am praying for blessings for you and yours, Linda

Wow that dust storm really is dramatic. Glad you were ready to stop for the night. Katie and Andrew really complained about Amarillo when they made the trek from our house to North Carolina in the winter. Wonder what you'll think. Enjoy your stops along the way...

Oh! I'm going to remember Macy's when we drive through Flagstaff next. We'd planned to do it this summer, but with Rolly's little accident, plans are in limbo. Russ may just fly back alone to visit family! But, there's still a chance,we do it. Safe travels!

Hope your car didn't get a sand-blasting. The description of that amazing coffee has me longing for a good cup.

That dust storm is something to see... scary, in a way! I can only imagine how it must have been during the Dust Bowl years in the 1930's... Would love to see something of Arizona and New Mexico one day! Fun to see a bit from your trip, Willow... Happy Days, Safe Travels ((HUGS))

Wow! What a great photo of the dust storm. Now I'm going to have that song in my head all weekend! Hopefully there are not 7 women on your mind... unless that is counting all of us reading about your travels! ;)
