A Montenegro Day

When a friend lived in Montenegro for a few months, she found that her dramatically simplified life allowed her to focus more fully on creative outlets.  A group of us have adopted the title 'A Montenegro Day' to describe a day or hour set aside for pursuing something creative.

Today was one of our Montenegro Days. We chose Carpinteria, a beach town on Highway 101. They took their watercolors.

Predictably, I had my camera.

And of course, I never go anywhere without my knitting.

What do you do on a Montenegro Day?

That's a nice descriptive expression, Willow! I haven't had many creative days recently as I've been so busy with grandbaby. Hopefully when she is a little older we can be creative together. I did manage to bake blueberry buttermilk muffins yesterday -- it felt good to bake@

Great shots Willow. We'll be zooming past Carpenteria on to Gaviota this coming Saturday for Caleb and Marie's wedding at a Blueberry Farm/Ranch. I need a Montenegro Day or two or three...

What an evocative, beautiful name for a state of mind! I write, of course. And always, the knitting.

Your photography just goes from strength to strength. What an eye you have for both color and line! Love that study in blues.

What a wonderful way to spend a day! Your photos always reflect how thoughtful you are. I have really missed being creative for no other reason but enjoyment. Thanks for the inspiration!

My favorite is the picture of the thin delicate weed.

You mentioned being in Phoenix. We are driving to Prescott AZ next week. Praying about moving out of So Cal. A big step for as we have lived here our whole lives.

That's why my blog has been a little sleepy.

Oh, I wish I could watercolor. Most likely, I'd be wandering with my camera on Montenegro Day. Here at home, we call them Dino Days. This is because we originally had dinosaur patterned cushions that we put out on the patio for lounging.

BEAUTIFUL images, Willow! And I LOVE your idea of a day just to focus solely on creativity. On a Montenegro Day you might find me painting, writing, or playing with fiber. ;o) Happy Day ((HUGS))

I definitely plan to have many "Montengro Days" this school year. It's so easy to get carried away with all of the tasks that distract us from enjoying simple things.
