A Month of Memories

It's September, traditionally the month of new school years.  For me, it seems like September is more like New Year, the beginning, than is January.  That's probably because I count my life in 'school years'. Either I was in school, my children or husband was in school, or I was teaching school.

During the month of September, I have decided to look back on my summer months and choose one photo a day to remind me of this summer past.

This is a great photo.

My husband, a retired high school teacher (as well as musician) even 12 years after he retired still says every August how wonderful it feels to know he does not have to gear up to go back to the classroom in September. Although he enjoyed the students and the teaching, still, it was a big disruption in the peace of summertime in his life.

Oops, it's actually only been 10 years since he retired!

I feel the same way! After N graduates, maybe it won't feel quite the same but then, I will probably be a volunteer teacher after that so it will continue. I absolutely love this time of year because it inspires me to learn something new.

Hi, Willow! I like your idea of a backward glance kind of post, sharing a bit of summer. I've always felt like September was the real new year. :o) September is such a special month. LOVE this photo! Happy Autumn Days, while you look back at summer... ((HUGS))
