May!

I was truly tempted to title this post May Day!  May Day!  I think everyone in the Northern Hemisphere is happy that May has arrived bringing spring and flowers and showers and sun.  I know I am happy that's it's May.  It's also Friday and that means celebrating Friday Fave Fives with Susanne.

1.  These trees!  Every year I look forward to finding the first blooming jacaranda tree of the season.  Usually jacarandas bloom in May.  They burst into brilliant purple after standing in nondescript anonymity all year long on streets and in parking lots.

2.  May Gray.  Normally I'm not a fan of gloomy gray days.  But in May and June our climate is highlighted lowlighted by 'early morning coastal fog and low cloudiness'.  The clouds help keep the late spring/early summer temperatures down.

3.  Because of visitors coming, I put extra effort into having my whole house clean and uncluttered at the same time.  Usually I will focus on one part of the house and then the rest is ignored and gets cluttered up.  But visitors prompted a whole house pick up.  The cleaning isn't the fave--the tidy house is.

4.  Quiet mornings when I can sit and relax while sipping my coffee.

5.  Birds.  They chatter.  They chirp.  They sing.  I love listening to them.

The jacarandas look so pretty! I don't think I've heard of them before.

I know what you mean about getting the whole house clean at once - quite a job! I usually rotate, too. But it's so nice when it's done.

I love quiet, relaxing mornings as well.

I love flowering trees! Here in Illinois they don't last too long so I try to enjoy them as much as possible.

A tidy house is definitely a fave.

But even better? A quiet relaxed morning!

Oh I know what you mean about visitors and a tidy house - it's usually a great kick start for me to get things done that I've been putting off. And quiet mornings when no one else is up - love them. Pretty trees.

Love listening to the birds these days, too. Oh boy...maybe I should invite some company to visit so I can get motivated to clean up this place!!
Hope you have a nice weekend and Mother's Day.

Your fave five have left me smiling at you :) It got to 85 degrees here today, so unusual and welcome...and I am not fond of hot weather! xx

Oh, yes. I, too, love hearing the birdsong this time of the year. I also have my eye on a robin's nest in my evergreen - just at eye level. Mary

wonderful list of faves! I'm also happy May is here but so far it's been a bit chilly for us!! it was actually warmer in March and with more sunshine! This morning, while my youngest writes the SAT exam for the next 3 hours, I am sitting in morning sunshine with windows open and birds chirping....gonna be a nice weekend here in eastern NY i think!!

Love the tree pic!!

Happy Mother's Day, too!!

In Missouri I look forward to the blooming of lilacs and Redbud trees. That is our tell tail sign that spring is here. Of course they have bloomed and now are all green. Which I will gladly take of the dark drab colors of winter. :)
Hope you have a lovely visit with your company! Happy Mother's Day!

It is certainly lovely to see purple canopies all around town and even along my freeway route to work (91, mostly). But it seems the best specimens are in some industrial park -- maybe they like a bit of neglect!

Did you get a little May Shower last Friday and this past Saturday? That's a lovely surprise for our area since rain is so rare between May and October.

Hurray for an all-house-tidy. Sometimes, I think we should have guests on a regular basis just so the house gets a good going-through ;-)

This is such a great list. Decluttering, beautiful flowering trees, birds singing, coffee! Love them all.
