It's a bit ironic but I usually rewatch the Gettsyburg mini series staring Tom Berenger, Jeff Daniels, Martin Sheen at this time of year (the battle was fought over the 4th). It's based on the novel The Killer Angels and I find it really powerful - as was the book if you haven't read it.

A visiting priest from Liberia gave his homily on Sunday and told us how Liberia has adopted our government and has seen their own revolution, and is especially thankful to Americans for providing educational materials so that they could learn. In hard times like this we forget that we have had good influence in the world and have made lots of children's lives so much richer and full! Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July to you too. I love how Nickolas Cage sums it up on National Treasure....that if we would have lost then the men would have been tried for treason and goes into the specifics of what that meant.
Our forefathers risked a lot to stand on their beliefs and gave all for a future that was non existent yet.
