Life's Simple Pleasures

Flower asked on her blog this morning that we tell others what is giving us pleasure today. Here are just a few of my simple pleasures today.

Lavender is one of my favorite flowers. I love it fresh or dried. While I was in London I even had lavender scones. I like to walk over to the lavender in my garden and brush my hand over the purple flowers and then breathe deeply.

Today I bought gas that cost less than $4.00 a gallon.

Today is Kiti's birthday! Tutoring jobs for both of us. Daphne's for lunch, a stop at a fabric store, then a frappacino! Happy Birthday, Kiti!

The New Boy's smiles make me joyful!

Knitting! Please do not tell me I'm obsessed with knitting bunnies. I won't listen to you. Here are Rupert, Anna, and William with Eleanor Elizabeth.

Other pleasures of this day? Driving along the freeway close enough to the Pacific Ocean to see the breakers. Cell phones that make communication with loved ones so simple. A husband who does the dishes while I am at a tutoring appointment. Good books to read. A snazzy laptop computer and a fast dsl connection. My blogging buddies.

  2. Willow,

That little guy is a cutie. The smile of a child seems to be able to wipe away all of our woes. My niece just had a new baby and Griffyn turned one at the end of June, so she has her hands full.

Love those bunnies. They are gorgeous.

I enjoyed visiting. I'm sorry it's been so long since I stopped by. With all the renovations and chaos here, it's been a real hassle. I just haven't been able to visit everyone as I'd like.

Glad to know you are well.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  5. Ahh, the pleasure of lavender. And fresh cherry tomatoes eaten right off the plants. Blog buddies, a cup of tea, cuddlesome cats, and the freshness of an early morning. We have to make time for our simple pleasures.

  8. The simple pleasures, and learning how to appreciate them, are what truly matters in life ~ at least in my opinion. You have a wonderful grasp on the simple pleasures. Children naturally find great joy in the little things - we would be better off if we adults followed their lead. Visiting your blog is always a pleasure. Enjoy your day.

  9. Happy Birthday to Kiti!!! I hope this year turns out to be a great one! She is lucky to have a mom like you! And with a grandson like that, who couldn't smile? One of my simple pleasures is feeling like I did a good job on my work, and that I added something good to the world, in a small but important way. Simple pleasures also include family dinners where we can all just be together!

What a sweetie! He has his mother's amazing eyes.

I like this idea of sharing what makes us happy. After watching "The Scent of Green Papaya" I started a Book of Happiness. Whenever something really touches me I write it in and sometimes even add a little drawing to help the memory. Not that I can draw. LOL

As for your rabbits, so you can't make too many of them. I went a bit mad at Easter so I'm covering my own back here. There is just something so sweet about them.

  19. Thanks for the reminder. Sometimes it's so easy to get lost in the maze of life, that we forget what those pleasures can be.

  20. What a wonderful list, and so worth making! On my list today would be the hot cup of Peet's coffee that my husband made for me, the dogs and my feet, and my daughters doing the breakfast dishes. A good way to start the day :)
