First Friday Fave Five in March

Here we go! Marching along...

This was a good week! And these are just five highlights:

1. A women's event at our church. Dinner, speakers, friends, fellowship at a local country club.

2. A bike ride with The Professor.

3. Our weather playing with the sun: he loves me, he loves me not. Each day was different with rain every other day this week.

4. A bit of time to knit and read. I have turned the heel on the second sock and am knitting the gusset now. The back of the navy vest is up to its armpits in stockinette stitch.

5. Anticipation. Packing a weekend bag. Servicing the car. Checking weather. Asking about hotel reservations. Choosing knitting projects for the hours in the serviced and newly tired car.

  2. Wow, apparently knitting has a language of its own. What is a gusset?

So fun to take a bike ride and smell the fresh air!

Have a great weekend on your trip. Can't wait to hear about it!

  3. Sounds like a very good week, Willow. I hope its a great weekend too!

Oh, and I've been to both the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Test Gardens in Portland in the past but not on this trip. Wouldn't it be wonderful if sometime we're in Portland at the same time and we could meet for tea somewhere!

  4. You forgot to mention the amount of comments on your previous post!!
#3 sounds familiar to me. Sun and clouds flirting is more common in Belgium than it is in your part of the world it seems!
I enjoyed your list AND the photography that goes with it. As always!
Have a great week Willow, and enjoy your trip!

  26. Willow,

I love bike riding. Hubby and I each bought one a few years ago and since we don't have a garage, we chained them to the porch. Well, they were stolen and we've never replaced them. However, I do ride with the boys on my daughter's bike and do enjoy it still. I used to ride miles every Sunday when I was a kid.

Enjoyed my visit. Have a great week.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  27. What a wonderful landscape this is, and how it must lift the spirits to come up the hills and see the clouds spread so, and colourfully as well.

  28. Hey Willow! Are you knitting these with yr fab hand spun, hand-dyed yarn from the previous post? I can't knit which I think is more difficult than sewing!

  29. Ooh! Can't wait to hear where the clean and tired car took you :)

  30. I'm glad you had a good week. And how fun to anticipate a trip!

I loved the little orange poppy. I have California poppies almost ready to bloom in the backyard. (They seem to be taking FOREVER.) But once they come...they stay awhile.

    The bike ride sounds fun.

    Have a great weekend!
