A Month of Thankfulness. Day 19. November 19.
I spent the afternoon baking. I made dinner rolls from my paternal grandmother's recipe. And I baked sugar cookies using the recipe from my maternal grandmother. I am thankful that I am able to use these saved recipes to bake tried and true goodies for friends and family.
This cookie recipe probably came with my grandma's family from Germany.

...I love cookies, but I often eat too many of them.
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty. And now they seem to be a family tradition. You are blessed to have the recipes!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look wonderful! And I would love to see your grandmother's roll recipe. I was thinking about some good yeast dinner rolls today and wishing I knew how to make them!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely 😍 👌
ReplyDeleteThe aroma coming from your kitchen must have been amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy maternal grandfather was German and my materanl grandmother was Dutch. I never knew my grandfather (long story as to why) and my grandmother died when I was 11 but mom inherited her sugar cookie recipe. I used to make them with my girls! Your kitchen must smell wonderful! I currently have chocolate-maple chip brownies in the oven :)
ReplyDeleteNice to keep up the family traditions. My husband has German ancestry.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful time of the year! Baking family recipes is a special part of it. Mary
