Home is Best

Oops, I'm late posting my Friday Fave Fives.  It's been another crazy week.  But it has been a good week.

1.  The Professor is HOME!  He was released from the hospital yesterday.  Of course, there is still lots of physical therapy to continue so he can regain even more of his muscles, but his progress is nothing short of amazing.  I just keep being amazed at how well The Professor is recovering from his stroke.  So many people called, emailed, and texted to let us know that they were praying for him.  I am so thankful God answered our prayers for his healing.

2.  Even before we drove home, we made a detour to a local coffee shop to visit my cousin who was driving through Ohio on his way to the east coast to attend a wedding.  We hadn't seen each other for more than ten years.  It wasn't a long visit but it meant so much to both of us.

3.  I am so very thankful to have the three home projects finished.  The driveway is repaved.  The downstairs flooring is replaced.  The upstairs carpet is renewed.  Whew.  It's all beautiful.

4.  To be able to have the carpet replaced in the 'library', we had to move ALL.THE.BOOKS.  It wouldn't have happened without friends who spent two afternoons and an evening taking all the books out and, after the new carpet was installed, putting them back on the bookshelves.  I am grateful for their help.

5. The garden is beginning to grow and produce.  Well, at least we are enjoying eating the kale.  And the flowers keep blooming.

It's always so good to come home from the hospital and have peaceful rest. Good news on the healing front. PTL! Those are pretty flowers from your garden. This will be a special Father's day for your kids, I'm sure.

That's great to hear that your husband is doing well. Continued prayers for both of you! I can't imagine having to move all of my books -- and then put them back! Hooray for good friends! The flowers are such a gorgeous color.

Praise God for His healing power regarding your beloved husband! if that's a current pic, he looks great!!
YAY for home projects being done. We have one room left in our colonial we built in 1994 to redo and that's the half bath flooring. We had already repainted it and put in new toilets and sink fixtures. I want tile. Hubby wants to just get more laminate. I'm hoping I win. :)

YAY for fresh produce and flowers and for a long over due visit with your cousin and friends who help out with chores.
ENJOY the weekend!!

Oh, Linda. Thank you for that update on your beloved. Roomie and I have been praying and thankful to hear about the swift recovery.

I see that family resemblance :-) Glad you could visit with your cousin. That these major projects could get done in the midst of all that upheaval is pretty amazing.

And that bouquet is stunning. So glad you are enjoying beauties from your own garden.

Wow you've achieved a lot considering what's been going on. Great to have good friends and neighbours stepping in to help out. It must be a relief to have your husband home. Hope he keeps recovering well.

So glad your husband is doing so well and is HOME! I'm glad, too, your home projects are done and you had helpers with the books.
