And here's my contribution for this week.
Since it's dark, and I cannot run out and photograph any doors at this time of night, I trolled around in my photo files from February 2011 and found this photo of windows in downtown San Diego. I had been walking in the Gaslamp Quarter near Fifth and Broadway.
A study in windows.

Oh, welcome aboard! I'm so pleased to have new participants, and especially those with such attractive windows!
Those really are great - very classy, and classic. And it's somehow reassuring to know that Woolworth's is still alive and kicking :)
These are nice tall windows. It looks like this building has been converted to apartments?
Oh, I'm looking forward to this one. You have such an eye for transition points.
Hi Willow, I'm so glad you got inspired! Windows and doors are endlessly intriguing; this will be a fun meme. I like the ones you've chosen today.
I even know now where in San Diego this is. I like having a visual of a city in my head! Oh yes...this might be a meme I'm going to have to join in on after the wedding! If they let the Marine come to his wedding ....yikes!
The old buildings are full of neat details, such as the windows. Perhaps as they were designed to be opened - unlike the modern fixed windows in our era of air conditioning. The new is more efficient in design, it is not as stylish as the old...
I love windows and doors! In fact, over the winter break, I blew up seven of my favorite window and door pictures (mostly from Peru) to hang on our living room wall. They make me happy :)
Nice windows! Please forgive a silly question, but does Woolworths still operate from that building? - asks a non-American who is ignorant of these things:-)
Lovely windows. I really like the strong lines and architectural details.
I have a thing for doors, too. I will have to have a look at the links. Love those windows. Wish they were in my office or home - think of all that lovely, natural light!
Nice shot of the windows!
I love doors too. Tks for visiting, I'd like to see the linky and what's going on with the door/window thing. Have a blessed weekend soon. Hugs..Mk
Hello again Kak willow :) I posted my chinese temple door...perhaps not one you would want for your home...but an interesting one hehe :) its been a long time since I did a meme so this was fun :)
Nice photo! I love architectural elements too! I'm hoping in my next house to find something more historical.
I saw this meme on Sara's blog today, and I know I'll Ave to join in soon as I love to take photos of pretty and unusual windows and doors!
I love the Gaslamp district of San Diego --so glad the city preserved all the wonderful vintage architecture!
For those who want to maximize the use of natural lighting, tall windows are an excellent choice. Be it in an office or home setting, appropriate window treatment should be selected. Have fun decorating!
