Eventful or Not

September, that is.  It's fast approaching--the September season which leads to nine months of classes, lesson plans, and paper correcting.  I'm not ready for this!  Stubbornly, I'm holding on to my last days of summer.  So this is what I did--sharing them for Friday Fave Fives.

1.  I knitted.  More hats.

2.  I went to the beach to watch the huge surf swelling.  Hurricane Marie is churning up the waves all along the Southern California Pacific Coast.

3.  Had a picnic there.
I packed some leftovers in plastic containers, grabbed some silverware and drove out to the university to pick up The Professor.  He started classes this week--all full, with waiting lists. Mugu Rock on Pacific Coast Highway is just a few miles from campus, so we drove out to the point to watch those magnificent waves roll in and splash

4.  Memories.  My laptop rotates photos from my files on the screen.  I enjoy viewing the changing pictures.  Lately the program has been cycling through photos of our trip to England in 2004.  My current favorites are of Northumberland along Hadrian's Wall.

5.  New pair of shoes.  I'm no shopper, but I needed a pair of shoes to replace the ones I lost (yes, I did) on our road trip.  I finally found a pair.  Crocs Gianna Flats.

So that was my week.  Mostly uneventful.  Right now uneventful is good.  Have you ever heard someone say this?  "May you live in interesting times."  According to some, it's supposed to be a 'curse'. (Others dispute that it is not a curse, simply an ironic statement.)  But in the spirit of the former, I wish you all an UNinteresting week.

Glad you did what you did and shared photos. I will never be ready for lesson plans and paper correcting either. As a shoe lover, you new shoes are a delight to see.

And as an anglophile, your photos of England put a smile on my face. Great uninteresting week!

Love the photos and how fun to have a picnic with your husband! I tried on those exact same shoes last weekend on my shopping trip!! But I ended up not getting any as I decided I was going to wait to see if they go on sale next month. ( the store I was in has a big sale every sept). Enjoy these last days of summer vacation....I sure am!!

I love uneventful weeks! This is the first time in 25 years I haven't had someone in school - feels odd. But restful. :)

Those waves look magnificent! Glad you got to picnic there with the Professor.

I'm not a shopper either and have an especially hard time finding shoes - hate when a favorite pair gets worn out. Glad you found some good new ones!

My desktop cycles through photos for a screensaver, too, but more randomly. It's fun to see some pop up we'd forgotten about or hadn't seen in a while.

I'm so happy to see all that wave action. You know where I would have been if I lived down there right now! Glad you had an uninteresting week. Good to hear the professors classes are full to overflowing!

Any week with new shoes in it is a good week! ;)

I love both sets of photos that you shared. Love the waves in the beach photos but also loved the colors of the sky and grass in the Hadrian's wall photos. How neat you got to experience both!

We were at Montana de Oro today, near Morro Bay, but we were hiking, and kind of forgot to stop and enjoy the big waves. I guess we'll just have to go back!

I love your photos of the water! I tend to love the regular days too. I've been behind on my blog reading this summer but I'll try to keep up!

Crocs? I didn't even know they were still in business -- or made shoes without Swiss-cheese-holes ;-)
