Love In February

It's Valentine's Day. And it's Friday. Since it is time for Friday Fave Fives, my focus is on things I Love.

1.  I love knitting. This week, I finished this afghan.  Younger Daughter bought the yarn and then decided she didn't want to use it.  So I took it and knitted the three colors in variegation.

2.  Whenever I am walking or hiking out in nature, I look for hearts.  Leaves. Rocks. Even hearts mowed into lawns.

3.  I love being able to see.  I have worn corrective lenses since I was eleven or twelve years old.  This week, The Professor and I had our annual exams and are set for another year.

4.  Today is our daughter-in-law's birthday! We love her!

5.  I love sunshine.  Today it is quite cold outside.  But the sun is shining.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and Happy Valentine's Day!

Such a lovely list! The gift of sight is such a blessing, something I take for granted. And that you are so intentional about looking for hearts in nature. . . I love that. The afghan is lovely! I finished a pair of socks this week:) I forgot to list it as a Friday fave. Happy Valentine's Day to you!

I love that someone mowed their lawn like that!

The afghan is beautiful! Can I pick your brain? How many stitches do you cast on and how many rows do you knit? I'm not making much progress on mine.

I love all the heart shapes you have here. I had a friend who was always finding heart shaped shells on the beach.

Have a lovely Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I, too, love that sunshine. There is something very satisfying in taking some else’s discarded yarn and making something lovely. Good job. Mary

Wonderful list of loves! That afghan is cozy looking and such a pretty pattern. Your collection of heart-shaped things made me smile. I have a lemon tree plagued with leaf miners but dropped leaves often wind up with a heart shape, too ;-)

What a great list. Your afghan is lovely and I love all those heart shaped pictures. Yes good eyesight should never be taken for granted. Happy birthday to your DIL. I'm blessed with 3 great DILs - one of them made dinner for us today. Have a good weekend.

I LOVE your list of faves. That blanket is so pretty. and Courtney (my oldest) and I look for hearts in nature as well!! usually for us it's either a heart shaped sea shell, rock or leaf. I"ve never seen someone mow a heart into their lawn but that's so cool!
Have a warm safe weekend. We have an ice storm predicted for tomorrow after supposedly some snow tonight. I'm alone all weekend and don't want to be snowed in. I can't lift the snowblower down and it's too heavy for my back issues. I'm praying we don't get alot.

What a sweet list of faves! I love the colors in the afghan. I collect heart-shaped things--how fun to see some in nature. I am so thankful for sight. I hope your daughter-in-law had a great birthday! It's quite dreary out today, but I am hoping for some sunshine this week.

I just heard of a dayhome who's tradition it was everytime they were out and about the kids would look for heart shaped rocks to bring back to a collection. That blanket is lovely, love the pattern. I totally get being able to see as a fave. I have struggled with my last set of lenses and it's so frustrating not seeing well.
