This week was busy! I really need this time to focus on the blessings of the past days. Friday Fave Fives helps me be intentional and thankful. Here are just five things that have reminded me how blessed I am.
1. Lots of time in the garden. The flowers in the pollinator gardens are blooming! I posted photos yesterday, but here are a few again.
2. Saturday was busy all day and into the evening. Knit group; graduation party for L, a family friend; baby shower for family members-- a baby boy is coming!
3. I've been knitting and knitting, too, when I have a few minutes. A photo will be coming soon of the crib blanket I am finishing up.
4. And... I bought some yarn. Planning my next project. If you saw these eight colors, what would you think I am going to knit?
5. We were planning to have coffee with T and S yesterday, but Tuesday night, we got a text saying-- going to ER. T ended up having a serious surgery. We are so so thankful that the issue was recognized, dealt with quickly and thoroughly (also thankful for good and careful techs and doctors and nurses). We were able to see them today and take T home.
Bonus: this comic made me giggle-- I'm LEFT handed.

You had a busy weekend and stopping to be thankful is important.
the comic cracked me up! My husband is left handed, I'm ambidextrous but mostly left for writing, my oldest is ambidextrous and mostly left although she can print and write with right hand and I can only play tennis, mini golf, iron, cut, and print right handed. Our youngest? only right handed. and the only one who doesn't need glasses yet is chosing to become an optician. HAHAH
Lovely flowers and I can't wait to see your knitting projects.
Home from ALBQ my now 2nd fave city in the States after Boston my first fave. My 2nd fave used to be portsmouth NH until this past week :)
My Day One post is up.
Hope you have a good weekend. Ours is rainy so far here in NY. I should have brought the new mexico sunshine back with me!
...always stop top enjoy the flowers and I hope that the surgery went well.
I enjoyed the flower pictures. Glad T is alright. I can only knit a scarf. I Look forward to seeing you finished blanket. Have a great weekend!
From one lefty to another, I know the feeling! Loved the comic! Right handed people have no idea what we go through just to be normal! LOL. Love seeing your flowers...especially that peony. I have no clue what you are going to knit...but I love the colors. I am glad your friend got to the hospital in time and that things were taken care of and he is back home already. This week was one for ER's and hospitals, I guess. So thankful for your friend, and also for our son who also paid a visit to the ER and stayed overnight, but thankfully no surgery. Have a good weekend and enjoy your summer days.
Beaitiful!
Happy to read that things resolved well for your friend. Yikes! Those phone calls are always disturbing. Your garden is yielding beautiful blooms! Hope your Memorial weekend is full of love...
Very cute comic strip! No lefties in our family, although my husband pitches softball and plays guitar left handed. Go figure!
I'm glad things worked out well for T. And as for the yarn? Oh, I see a lovely blanket striped in all those colors? Whatever you create, it will be beautiful!
Wow, that does sound like a busy day! I have no idea about the yarn, unless it will be a blanket. I look forward to seeing what comes of it. I am glad your friend got to the ER and got help in time.
Great comic strip. Our elder son is naturally a leftie but forced himself to write with his right hand - he hates to be different or stand out in a crowd. Grandson Nathan is also a leftie and his writing is gradually becoming more legible. Looking forward to seeing your finished blanket and no idea what the yarn is for but I'm sure whatever it is will be lovely. Glad your friend T got treated so quickly and is home already. Must have been a scary time. Hope you've had a good weekend.
Beautiful flowers. Mine are bringing me lots of joy, too. Knitting guess - maybe a fairlsle vest or sweater? The comic was great! I remember when left-handed knitting was a bit of an issue in the Master Knitting course for you. You solved it though! Mary
Be still my heart, that white peony is gorgeous! That cartoon had me laughing. So glad your friend is alright. How exciting on a new baby boy on the way. I have no idea what that yarn will be but am excited to find out.
