Friday the Thirteenth? Uh-Oh

Friday the 13th.  What good can come out of this day?  Well, lots.  Lots of good things.  The more we focus on the the good, the more we see.  That's why Friday Fave Fives is important (even on the 13th).  Friday Fave Fives is a great way to encourage gratitude every day, every week.

Here are five things that reminded me to be grateful this week.

1.  More daffodils!  I just can't get enough of them.  They're blooming in my garden!

2.   I love to cut some of the daffodils and bring them into the cottage.  It makes me smile every time I glance over at the side table.

3.  I am thankful I have family and friends to walk with and many trails to walk on in our community.  One of our favorite paths follows the Licking River and sometimes crosses over it.

4.  Yesterday, I opened up the mailbox and found a letter awaiting me.  If you don't know, it's my birthday month.  My birthday is next week, but I just couldn't wait to open up this card from my dear friend M.  It included a lovely letter which I plan to answer this weekend (maybe tonight?).   We've been friends for fifty-five years a long time.  We sang together in our college trio and toured during summers representing the school.

I treasure my friendship with her and am thankful that we have stayed in touch all this time.

5.  Last night we spent the evening with friends at their home.  They ordered Nepali-Indian food for dinner.  Oh my.  Delicious.  An added bonus was that their two teenage sons and a girlfriend wanted to have dinner with us too.  We had a great three hours of eating and chatting.

So, I guess Friday the Thirteenth isn't so bad after all.

Happy Birthday month! Your daffodils are beautiful. They always remind me of my mother. Our kitchen was yellow with daffodils when I was young.

Happy early Birthday and how wonderful to get a card and a real letter in the mail!! I JUST mailed one to my dear friend Donna...we've been friends since 1965 when we walked to kindergarten together in our little village out in central NYS. isn't it wonderful to have a life long friend?
Love the daffodils! none here yet but my tulip stems/leaves have pushed through.
YAY for outdoor walks!
Happy weekend!

Oh, I love your daffodils! It's too bad they wouldn't last if you mailed them to me! LOL. I really need some daffodils for my sister's birthday on April 5th (although I don't know yet which day we are going to actually celebrate). I'm hoping to find a pot of them somewhere by then. And Happy Birthday to you next week!! I hope you have a lovely birthday! So nice also to receive real mail/cards in the mail from dear friends! That's a treasure for sure. Looks like you had a lovely walk! Happy Springtime!!
