Marching In

It's March!  I'm excited!  Are you?  And it's Friday.  And time for Friday Fave Fives.  Here are the five blessings I am choosing to share from my week.

1.  One evening when I was climbing into bed, I thought, "I am thankful for a warm bed."  Snuggling under my cozy blankets is something I don't take for granted.

2.  The weather has been very very rainy this week.  Finally, yesterday, it was mild and dry enough to take a walk around our neighborhood.  A bit more than two miles.

3.  We spent Sunday afternoon with a young mom at her place.  We've known her for a couple of years and adore her fourteen month old daughter.  Spending that time with them was a delight for us.

4.  This afternoon, my daughter-in-law and PAL drove down to the next county with me to a used book store that supports a local nonprofit.  We might have found a few books we want to read...  and then we stopped by a 'country store' where there is lots of yarn and fabric as well as used goods.  I only purchased two balls of yarn and a pair of needles.

5.  And it is almost Spring!  To prove it, the plants in my garden popped out some indications that Winter is winding down.

The crocus is blooming!

Daffodils are getting ready.

The forsythia hasn't begun to bloom, but it is setting out many buds.

Even the bees were busy outside of their hives.

That wraps up my first week of March.  I hope you had a great week, too.

I would love the country store. You must have a beautiful garden. I can't wait to see it when everything is in bloom.

What a wonderful week you've had despite the rain. Rainy and sleety here too all week but today is supposed to improve temperature wise. and by Tuesday it is supposed to be 66 F!! We shall see......

I have only seen some little shoots of green coming through the brown flower bed...it's my irises! Haven't seen any crocuses yet and I don't have daffodils in my yard although my neighbor does and they are still buried under snow.

I'm hoping to get a good outdoor walk in today if the rain/sleet hold off

Happy Weekend

Such a fun week! We have been grateful for the rain we’ve had…and today I’m eager to enjoy the sunshine coming. What? You can still find needles you want after all these years of knitting? lol. Me too! Mary

Mary, they were wooden size 0. I "needed" them!

Simple pleasures! So comforting, crawling into a warm, soft bed at night. Your day at the book store and yarn shop sounds perfect! I love to prowl around used bookstores and look for treasures. Fabric shops used to be my weakness, too, and my mom and I would spend hours together, going through bolts of fabric. Such good times.

Love daffodils. And I love your gratitude at having a warm and comfy bed at night too. It’s things that we take for granted sometimes that are the most precious.

Had to laugh at you buying knitting needles and then your comment above. I would have thought you had every size possible too. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I hope we get some more rain this spring. I thank the Lord for a comfy bed every night. I am so used to all my pillows. It is hard when I travel. I usually take a few small pillows with me. Not sure I can do that when I go to Israel in the fall, God willing!

I often think how thankful I am for my bed when I crawl into it. I'm glad you had enough dry weather to get out for a walk. The book store and country store sound like fun excursions! We have some spring blooms out this week, too--I love it.
