Oregon Beach

Pacific Ocean Coastal Beaches are places of home to me.  I grew up visiting these beaches.  It's probably why I am a Beach Girl.  During our visit to Oregon last week, my brother drove us to Rockaway Beach and Nehalem Bay Beach because he knows how much I miss my beaches.

Oregon Beaches are famous for their driftwood piles.  Think:  forests like the Redwoods and Olympic National Forest.  Trees fall down into the rivers.  They are swept to the sea.  They're battered by the waves.  Then they end up on the beaches.

What to you do with all the driftwood?  You build forts and fences and windbreaks.

Beaches bring me joy and peace and rest.

I enjoyed the beach pictures too! I sure hope I get to the beach this summer or before. I just have to limit my time in the sun.

Yes, it was windy that day. You can tell by the way the sand is blowing in the next to last photo.

Dear Willow, the ocean soothes me so much, I can't explain it! Even fountains with the sound of rushing water I find very soothing! Your photos are gorgeous!

Beautiful and so peaceful! I love to see the character of driftwood. Every piece is really unique, and what a story it could tell if it could talk! Thank you for sharing this with us. I am happy for you to be able to be at the beach again.

Beautiful! I love driftwood...my mom and us kids used to collect it off the shores on the back side of the Great Sacandaga (google it) near where our summer camp was and mom made these pretty creations out of driftwood that involved ceramics and silk flowers. For the lift of me i have NO idea where all that ended up! I'd love a piece of it but.....hm....she died in 2012 and there were NONE that i could find in the attic.
