1. Our busy week started with Saturday. The Professor had a meeting at 9am. I had Fiber Arts Group at 11am. And then we drove north more than an hour to visit Milk and Honey Acres which was having an open house. I enjoy buying and using their salves, and they experimented and made one with tallow instead of beeswax just for me. It was a busy day but it was filled with blessings.
2. On Tuesday, I received a text from Tall Boy noting that he needed a ride to the high school for the honors convocation ceremony. Umm, ok. We didn't know about it... The Professor had Trail Life to attend, so he dropped us off at the high school, and later his mom arrived (just getting off work) in time to watch him stand and receive his award.
Yes, he really is that tall.
And after the ceremony, Tall Boy and his mom had a silly photo shoot.
3. Wednesday noon was a special time. We have a friend who lives in Vietnam and works with an NGO there. We were friends when we lived in California. But now her mom is living in Columbus, so she visits here whenever she is in the US. So we always plan a lunch time to catch up on our lives. I am so thankful for this friendship!
4. Lots of garden time. I have been outside working in our gardens almost everyday this week. Except today because it has been raining nonstop all day. So much weeding to do. And making changes like adding more beds for wild flowers. I am thankful that we have enough property that we can add more areas to have lots of flowers for our bees.
5. Speaking of bees... our hives are going bonkers. So busy doing their business of making honey.
I am thankful for our beekeeper Steve. He comes immediately if there is an issue. Yesterday, he arrived in five minutes to close up our hives (and our neighbor's hives) when there was a suspicious smell all over our neighborhood. Then this morning he returned and checked the hives to make sure 'the girls' are healthy. They are. And maybe soon, we will have more honey.
And tomorrow is another busy Saturday. Tall Boy graduates from high school!!

Hi Willow, I enjoyed reading your post. It is so nice to see kids go to graduate activities and move up. Today was the last day of school for the seniors and my grandson was going to the senior Luau. He was able to wear a Hawaiian shirt that belonged to my dad. That is neat that you have honeybees! Fresh honey is so good! Congratulations to Tall Boy!
...being busy is a good thing!
Wow, that is a busy week, but a pleasant one. Congratulations to your grandson on his award! How fun to have friends visit. Glad the bees are okay. Have you ever read the novel He Should Have Told the Bees by Amanda Cox? The main character is a beekeeper. It's very good.
You have bee hives! I did not know that. So, do you sell the honey? What do you make with it? What type of honey is it, wildflower? You really did have a busy weekend! I hate it when family asks for help with an event we didn't even know about! And of course each one of them blames the other for not informing us.
Tall boy has a very appropriate blog name! Hard to believe is graduating year for him and for our Hope. Yikes. They years go fast in retrospect! God bless him as he walks into this new phase of life...
Wow he IS tall!! (so is my oldest daughter's bg...6'2"! and she's only 5'2!!)
Congrats to him on the awards and graduation. Our kiddoes up here in NYS graduate the last friday/sat of June (depending on the town).
YAY for getting together with long time friends and having time to attend a book group and Do special trips. I love that.
Happy Weekend. Raining all day here (Sunday) and it began around 6 pm last evening. supposed to be done by noon tomorrow so maybe we WILL get a chance to grill those vegan burgers!)
It is such a blessing that you are able to attend special events. Congrats to your grandson on his graduation! How fun to see your friends who lives so far away. I did not know there are people who come and take care of beehives. Interesting choice of career.
Bees! I didn't know you were keeping some. Very cool.
Doesn't Garden Time always make the faves? How nice to have enough space to dream.
You have certainly been busy busy. These photos are precious reminders of how that time was spent.
