Family and Friends Faves

Happy Friday, my blog friends!  How was your week?  I hope it was full of blessings.  Mine was.  It was busy but wonderful.

Here are my Friday Fave Fives from my week.  Click on the link and join us in practicing weekly gratitude.

1.  Road Trip! We traveled to Iowa!

The Professor's mother was born and lived in Iowa during her childhood.  Many of her family members still live there, and every June they have a family reunion.  So this year, we took Nurse Daughter and her son with us to the reunion.

2. It is always a joy to visit Sunday morning church service at the church where The Professor's mother attended growing up.

And his mother is buried in this cemetery.

3.  Friends.  I have a dear college friend who lives not far from where the reunion was.  So we met up and enjoyed a lunch together.  Then the next day we spent several hours hanging out during the reunion.  We even managed to take one photo!

4.  We enjoyed staying with The Professor's cousin at her farm.  What a beautiful place!  I love visiting her.  I love sitting on her back porch and just gazing out at the farmland.

5.  And she loves to cook.  This was our last breakfast.  Swedish pancakes!

We had a wonderful road trip and a wonderful family reunion.  I am thankful for the opportunity to spend the days with family and friends.

I think it's wonderful that your husband's family didn't mind your college friend coming to the reunion. My mom's side of the family is SO opposite of that. Makes me sad.

Beautiful farm setting!

That church is beautiful...and so peaceful looking.....

Glad you had a good trip and that your daughter and grandson could go!

What a wonderful trip. This is such a good photo of you and your friend. And the church looks like a picture postcard of what most churches looked like at one time.

Iowa is such a nice place. We travel through the state often, on our trips to visit our son and family in Wisconsin. I enjoyed seeing your photos.

It was lovely farmland and such a nice family. The church photo was great. Maybe you should start taking pictures of old country churches to supplement your barn collection. Mary

What a lovely visit! It's so neat your husband's family continues the reunions. What a gracious hostess you had. It's neat you could meet up with a college friend as well.

What a wonderful week, Willow! Your Iowa trip sounds so special — family, friends, beautiful views, and even Swedish pancakes to finish it off. I love how you capture the blessings in each day. Such a joy to read.
