Project Blue. Take Six

Project Blue. Take Six.
Bougainvillea against a BLUE sky.
Camarillo, California
2 June 2008

I pass this magnificient bougainvillea almost every day on my walk. When it is framed by the blue sky, the scarlet glows.

I love how the blue sky contrasts with the color of the flowers. Great shot!

You are right the blossoms do glow, especially against that beautiful blue sky.

Bougainvillea is a favorite of mine. The one you have pictured here looks like it might be hot pink like my Raspberry Ice variety. If it has variegated leaves than it is.

Your treatment of Project Blue is a real treat, by the way. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

The colors are gorgeous!!! Are you getting excited for your trip?? I've been packing and am almost done. I can not wait to see your photos you take!!! I also saw on Alicia's blog that you were born and raised in Portland. Her photos of the area are always so pretty! Craig and I almost moved there when we were first married and I always wonder what life might have been like if we had.

I hope you are all better by this weekend!!!

I love all your blues! Great choices. I'm not sure why, but the blue rope against the side of the boat may be my favorite. Maybe it's the spareness of it, with so much left to the imagination.

The blue beads are simply stunning. I have to say I don't always give blue the appreciate your photos show it deserves. I resolve to do better now.

That is a beautiful photograph. The Bougainvillea is amazing - I just transplanted one today and I had to chuckle when I realised how pitiful it looks in comparison to ones growing in a more hospitable climate (mine goes indoors each autumn).

I love blue and pink together. Isn't it amazing the colour schemes nature come up with. On Rhodes there are hedges of these, jasmine and hibiscus. Whenever I see the colours I think back to that holiday and smile.

Such a splendid, vibrant composition, Willow! That red shot through the blue sky is exciting! Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))

Willow, your photo is just beautiful! You commented that where you are they try to cover up the cell towers with fake trees... I've seen that done once here in upstate New York. It's hilarious because it's the tallest fur tree rising out a clump of fur trees. You can't miss it. Ha!
