Friday Fave Five

Welcome to Friday Fave Five hosted by Susanne at Living To Tell The Story! Every Friday anyone who wants to participate can go to her blog and sign up with Mr. Linky to be included in telling others the five favorite things of the week. Here are mine in no particular order:
1. Kitty sitting in a local beach town in the Los Angeles metro area. We love visiting our old stomping grounds in LA and love helping out our friends who are on vacation. The kitty is kinda fun, too.

2. Dinner with MamaMia and her Marine, the Marine's good buddy from Oregon, and Mike our anthropology student. Mike lives and works nearby until time to leave for Stanford. The others were doing some Los Angeles tourist things. Yummy Thai food. What's your fave Thai dish? Mine (this week) is pad thai. And thai iced tea.
3. This fave should be counted as an un-fave, sort of. I heart my hometown of Camarillo, CA because we have free parking. I'd forgotten about paid for parking everywhere here. $.25 for every 20 minutes.

4. We finally purchased some patio furniture this week. Unfinished red cedar adirondack style chairs. We sanded and puttied and sanded again and when we return to Willow's Cottage we plan to pull out the paint brushes and finish the job with white paint. We got a great deal on the chairs here:

5. Dinner with a friend who is older and wiser than I. We talked and laughed for hours.

What about you? What did you love about your week? Share it with others here.

#5 is great! It gives you something to enjoy, something to aim for, and something to pass along at a later date. A gift that keeps giving, if you will.

I love the idea of being working closer to office, I usually work about 90km away from home..but now am closer as the other Manager has gone on medical. I didnt know that simple things like sending the kids to school and having lunch with them gave them so much happiness..things that many stay at home mom does. Happy weekend Kak Willow :P

Love the parking meter. Great list as usual. Nothing better than talking with friends :) Happy Friday

I enjoyed your list - a cute kitty, great friends, a fun furniture project. We have free parking in downtown Newport October through May - boy is it a bonus because in the summer, not only is it always packed down there, but it gets expensive!

Dinner with friends, laughing and talking for hours - one of my all-time favourites. I like Thai food but I haven't had it that often. I remember going to a Thai restaurant in Toronto and the dish was delicious - but so hot - I had to keep sipping ice-water between bites :)

Happy FFF

Ooh...I love pad thai and haven't had it in a long time. Now I have a craving. I always love reading your Fave 5's since you truly appreciate the 'little' things and you are mindful of moments. Enjoy.

Sounds like you are eating well around people you love..one of my favorite things to do. I too am not a fan of "pay for parking." Looking forward to seeing the patio furniture in it's painted form...
Have a great weekend. I'm headed to Brea today.

Sounds like you had a wonderful week! I need a friend in a beach town to go on vacation! First I need a friend in a beach town! LOL! I'm going to make you feel MUCH better about paid parking where you are. I just did a mini rant a few weeks ago after heading down to National Harbor and having to pay 25 cents for 8 minutes (yes, I said EIGHT minutes) of parking time!!! 20 doesn't sound so bad now, does it??? LOL!

My FFF is up! (first time!)

I don't think I've ever had Thai food. Saigonese, I have. I wonder if they are similar?

Your going to love you adirondack chairs. That is my go to place with my iced coffee and a good book to escape.

I love most things Thai but can never remember names. The thai iced coffee is delicious to me.

We have the same issues with parking here in San Francisco.

Sounds like a great week.

Willow,

It sounds like you had a great week. The patio furniture will look great when you get it painted. Remember to take photos.

Not much going on here this week. The boys' dad is home on vacation so I didn't have to pick them up from school. It was a nice break but it rained mostly every day. At least the sun is shining today.

Glad you're enjoying your time away.
Blessings,
Mary

Hello, I'm joining FFF for the first time and visiting participants. Wow...pad thai. I fancied that all week but somehow never got to having it. A great week to you.

What a lovely week. My garden furniture is cast iron so luckily I can get away with a coat of hammerite every few years.

Like you I think parking should be free as it encourages people to go to a place so it is good for business.
