Thank you to all who are thinking of and praying for our firefighters. My nephew was on a strike team yesterday but is home now resting, recharging so he can return to his post.
The fire departments here in Southern California aren't always fighting fires, although this week it seems like they do. Sometimes they rescue boaters whose capacity to sail extends beyond their ability to control their craft.

We should all be grateful for such heroes!!
Yes they are! I keep sending out my thoughts to the firefighters on the line out there, hoping they stay safe...
Heroes for sure. Love the deep blue in these photos!
I'm relieved to know your nephew is safe. It does seem like the worst of the Station fire is over, hopefully.
Watching the news reminds me of your circumstances. And they said the fire season is just beginning...oh, I sure hope there will be some intervention.
Hoping they all stay safe when out on rescue. Jane x
Still thinking of you especially as the Angeles National Park area is not too far from you.
A very interesting thing -- The word verification here today is RESCUE!
I have a BIL who's a retired LAPD motorcycle cop. He's a crusty old fart with a heart of gold. He grumps a lot, but he's the one who turns out and gets things done. Some guys are natural heros. Ya gotta love 'em.
Yes, they are heroes--even on the water. (That water looked so refreshing.)
I have a brief update on Mt. Wilson
Your poor firemen are keeping busy these days. We've been watching on the news.
I've felt so out of touch and didn't even know that there were fires again in LA!!! I hope this isn't like a couple summers ago...lots of smoke and ash. I will pray for it all to end!!! hugs...b.
Hi Kak Willow, it's terrible about the fires and hope it goes away soon. Thanks for your wonderful wishes and prayers, Elissa is well and at home now. Love and hugs..M
Yes, we salute these brave young ( and not so young) people who are willing to go out there and do hard things for us!
They are brave indeed.
Yes, September is such a lovely month.
