Friday Fave Five, April 23rd

Friday is here again and so is Friday Fave Five! Welcome!

1. I am proud to announce that The Professor not only survived the fifty-five mile bicycle Ride for Literacy, he finished in great shape and time!

2. Our garden is growing! Soon we'll be enjoying kale, lettuce, peas and other green yumminess.

3. I had fun this week recycling a sweater that I am going to reknit into a more appropriate and better fitting garment. I posted details of how to unravel and old sweater and prepare the yarn for reuse on my new knitting blog.

4. The performing arts department of the local university where The Professor is on the faculty did several performances of "The Heidi Chronicles" this past week. Of course, we attended because usually The Professor helps out with the lighting design. For this production, we were just part of the audience. I enjoyed watching the set crew and performers work with the abstract stage set moving staging cubes around between scenes.

5. Ellen is in town for a couple of days packing the last possessions she has here. We enjoyed tea and then dinner at an excellent little Italian restaurant. Spending a few hours catching up on family and personal news was truly the best highlight of my week. Hopefully, we'll be able to meet up again for lunch before she heads to LAX.
That's a wrap on Willow's Week! What ONE event from your week reminded you to be grateful? Join our hostess Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and share your faves from this week.

Yaaay for the professor! Must be wonderful to grow your own vegetables. I'm very tempted to do so, but my patio is really too small for that. Catching up with my daughter was my highlight of the week as well!
Have a great weekend Willow!

Good Morning Willow....
I was pleased to receive your comment and delighted to hear that your Grandson has discovered Thomas.... there are lots of adventures in store for him.

I’ve included a link about the Talyllyn Railway that I thought may interest you. The Rev. W. Awdry, author of Thomas the Tank Engine worked as a volunteer on the Talyllyn Railway.... but you can read more about on the link below.

http://www.talyllyn.co.uk/awdry

Congratulations to the Professor..... what an achievement, that is some bike ride!

Like yours, our garden is growing.... somewhat behind yours tho’. We have only just emerged from a very harsh winter, but now the sun shines and everyone seems all fired up with enthusiasm to get out and garden.

I like your idea for recycling the sweater.... I’ll have to read your tips. Love the midnight blue colour of your wool.

Such precious time with your daughter enjoy every minute. I don’t get to meet up with mine frequently, but we speak each evening which is lovely.

Have a good weekend. Marion

You had a great week! I love the color of that yarn you show.
Yeah for your professor!!
The one thing that made me grateful this week? That I have good health...someone in a ministry I help out with had to have major surgery due to some kind of seizure....haven't heard the outcome yet but I am SOOOOO grateful that the Lord, thus far, has blessed me and my family with good health. Enjoy your weekend

Way to go for the bike ride....I've got a few taking off for the Van marathon this weekend, while I keep the boys.
It's so nice to know that we know share Ellen B.
I will need to check out the new knitting blog. I've been spending to much time in ER.

Did not realise that the Prof was so fit! Congrats. to him.

Your reknitting - so professional. I guess one has to get the wool straight to make a good garment. I remember reknitting as a child and it was always wobbly.

Son back as of Sunday and daughter flying to San Diego Friday.
