Willow's Wild Weekend

Well, Willow's Week turned out to be rather more of a week than I expected.  A whirlwind visit by #2 Son the Grad Student. And a more whirly whirlwind trip to San Diego.  And in the midst of all the craziness, there were the many blessings.

1. Spending the few days with The Grad Student before he left to return to Indonesia was a wonderful gift. Also, the email telling us that he had arrived safely in Jakarta made this mama's heart happy.

2. The visit with Youngest Daughter and her sweet family was all the sweeter for being only twenty-four hours.  We didn't go any fun places except the park, but that was enough.  Hanging out at home talking and laughing is best.

3.  Little sweetnesses like this dandelion corsage which Little L picked for me and insisted that I wear tucked in my buttonhole.

4.  Beginning the 'organizing the photos' project.  Yes, I did start!  Hopefully, the small beginning will continue and a large dent will be made in this gigantic project.

5.  Possibly we have solved the deer problem.  A concoction from the big box home store which includes red pepper may be the solution.  Here's hoping.

A couple of bonus photos which I finally moved from my phone after way too long.  Both were snapped across the freeway from my neighborhood.

That looong row of poinsettias is breathtaking! Great to visit here with you, Willow! I've been away from the computer. We're just back from a little vacation. :o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

Glad you had some good visits with family. I agree that time at home talking is best, especially on short visits. Glad Grad Son got to Jakarta safely.

Love the sweet dandelion corsage. And that row of poinsettias - wow!

Hope the deer deterrent works!

I'm hoping to do something with shoe boxes full of photos after I get my craft room finished.

It always blows me away to see those poinsettias along your roadways like that. To me poinsettias always come in a pot. I had no idea they grew wild like that. So beautiful!

So sweet that dandelion corsage is. There is something so precious to me when little hands pick something they deem to be a pretty flower and present it to us. Gives me a new perspective on something we adults consider a weed and a nuisance.

Beautiful snaps! Ahh the memories of the avenue of poinsettias! :)
Glad you got some good quick visits in. That's one healthy dandelion! One of our small group members is off to Jakarta with his family for a month. Have a great weekend!

when I lived in the country deer were always a problem in the gardens. Now I am on a small island and we don't have any deer at all. I've never seen Poinsettia grow wild like that before. Here we just get a plant in the market for Christmas.

This week flew by in a flash! I am still waiting to hear if my friend in Norman, OK is safe through all these tornadoes and my mom is arriving in Florida today for her move there to be near my sister. I just got sunburnt watching my son's last soccer game too. It sounds like you had a good week!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend with dear family. Treasured moments.

I never knew poinsettias could grow so tall and profusely! Magnificent.

You know how to pack lots into your weekend.
I hope you share your idea of how you are organizing those photos. I'm slowly working on mine..

If I were on my own I would suggest we try to meet, but we are just going to stay the weekend in Burbank and will try to keep the visit extra calm for my oldest sister's sake...just some hugs and quiet meals with nieces and a nephew and two little great nieces...Is LA ever calm? Please pray we are safe drivers!!!!!
Gracie :-)
