Last summer I began this hat on our cross country road trip. Quickly I realized that focused fair isle knitting is not ideal car travel work. I put it away and finally pulled it out over Christmas break to finish it.
100% bamboo yarn
size 6 needles.
After a hiatus, I returned to knitting these flower fair isle socks.
100% wool
kind of my own pattern since I found fair isle designs I liked and used them with a basic sock pattern
size 3 dpn
More hats for the NICU
I turned in 7 little bitty hats and then finished these two last week
acrylic baby yarn
size 3 dpn
In my efforts to use up my yarn stash, I have been knitting hats from 100% wool, Around here, no one wears wool hats, so these will be gifted to charity, specifically this organization. It hurts my heart to know that there are children anywhere in the world who are cold and miserable. I can knit them hats.
I am also working on another shawl. No photos yet. It's silk and alpaca handspun (by me).

So many wonderful creations for good!
I love, love, love all of your knits, especially the incredible shawl in your previous post. Your hat is so "shetland-ish_ looking. I haven't knit with bamboo much, but I need to try it.
Thanks for stopping by...yes, I've been MIA for at least a year. Now that grad school is over, I feel like I have so much more "free time" on my hands! So good to see your comments on passion and learning...Happy New Year, Willow!
Beautiful work, Linda!!! I so admire your skill and artistry and SPEED :) You continue to inspire me. xx
Here I am so pleased with myself that i got three whole baby hats completed and look at you!

Such HAPPY knits, Willow! LOVE the soft mocha shades of the hat... And all the sweet candy colors for the kiddie projects. Such wonderful hats... I cry just thinking about the heads that may wear them... Thank you for the charity link. I was looking for a craft charity for Lent, and this give me ideas--thank you! Happy Days ((HUGS))
I love your colourwork! The hat is fabulous. I always seem to knit too tightly when I attempt this kind of thing, so I tend to shy away from it. Love all the little hats for the babies too. Heart-warming! Ros
Beautiful hats they are too! I am making my first one right now. Hopefully it will turn out alright! :)
