Fave Fives, January, Take #4

Happy Friday!  It's time to reflect back this past week and remember with gratitude the blessings.  Usually, it's the little things that matter most.  Flowers. Moons. Books. Jokes.  Here are Friday Five Faves from Willow's Week.

1.  Look what I found in my garden!

2.  Usually we take our daily walk later in the evening, but the evening before the full moon we were out earlier and I caught this snap shot of the moon rise.  I love photography!

3.  When you have a cold, take Airborne.  It helps.

4.  I have listed the books I am planning to read this year.  The current count is thirteen.  These are the books I had already started reading or chose to put on my reading table last year.  I had noble ideas of choosing a book and reading it through to go through my list in a tidy and organized manner.  That didn't last long.  I am almost finished with Keep It Simple, Keep It Whole, but then I picked up Louis L'Amour's Education of a Wandering Man and begin reading it because I have the beginnings of a cold and wanted something light.  I thought I was going to be reading a casual autobiography which is just right for a fuzzy cold brain. But it's not quite like that.  However, I found a wonderful quote by L'Amour:

"It is often said that one has but one life to live, but that is nonsense.  For one who reads, there is no limit to the number of lives that may be lived, for fiction, biography, and history offer an inexhaustible number of lives in many parts of the world, in all periods of time."

5.  For your amusement:  One of my students told me a joke this week.  When he heard it, he memorized so he could tell me in class:

What is the difference between a cat and a comma?
A cat has  a paw with claws.
A comma has a clause with a pause.

Perfect joke for a teacher to enjoy :-) You did beautifully on that moon photo. Love the wisps of clouds, too. May their number increase! Are you expecting rain this weekend, too?

How wonderful to see a daffodil already! And that moon shot is lovely. What a perfect joke for class - cool that he memorized it as well.

We have daffodils lining the roads to our village, they have peeked up way to early in the year, its often March. Still they are wonderful to see, even if it is early.

Love the L'Amour quote! And your student's joke was very clever! Wow, daffodil already. Although our weather has been really nice I don't think we are near seeing those sweet flowers blooming just yet. I love moon pictures!

Love the joke and the quote! I actually relate to L'Amour's quote because, especially growing up, I did live a lot of life in my imagination. I always became the main character of the novel I was reading. How boring life would have been without my books!

I enjoy photography too and am so thankful for an iPhone with a good camera to be ready to snap a photo whenever I can. Love the moon shot, but the daffodil even more ...

Love the L'Amour quote. Zinc lozenges are good for a cold, too. I have some that have vitamin C in them. Just little lemon flavored tablets that are delicious to suck on and don't leave that awful taste in the mouth like Cold-eze does. I just told Dennis today that I'm anxious to see Daffodils. Glad you got some rain...much needed. xo ~ Nancy

Yea for rain! We have been cold and breezy here in central AZ, but not much rain. The pool is full of leaves - oh well. We hope we get some of your rain. You are a talented knitter - wow that fix looks great. I love your "to read" list for the year. I have read a couple of those books - Your Money or Your Life is excellent. My husband and I both try to live by that one. Have a good week.

Your photo's are lovely! It is a pleasure to take pictures of the things we notice and then be able to share! Laura Jane is reading L'Amour for enjoyment, too! I've never read one of his book...but we do have a few here and I may take the plunge!
Sorry about the cold. Misery but then you'll have it out of the way. :)
