1. Lunch with a friend. She was my Precepts Bible study leader and we attend the same church. In addition, we are sort of in the same time of life, so we have lots in common. Starting at the lunch place, we continued our conversation over coffee. We just had so much to talk about--we still weren't done. There's always another time...
2. The hat I knitted for that sweet little one was happily received. Big brother was standing nearby, so I asked him if he'd enjoy a hat too. He replied, "Yes, please!" {so polite!} Brother chose a World War II watch cap in navy blue. It's on the needles now. I love knitting for people who appreciate it!
3. Speaking of knitting, the World's Best Neighbor asked me for some knitting advice. The result is that I have a new scarf project. I'm making her pattern with her so we can compare notes. Details: sock yarn, size 7 needles.
4. We went to the county fair again this week, this time as revelers not workers. I love the theme! We truly are a country county although we share a county line with Los Angeles County. And we truly do have ocean air at the fair. The fair grounds are literally across the bike path from the beach and you really can smell the ocean as you stroll down 'main street' (unless you're right by the bbq place!)
5. First time ever at a fair: a vegan option advertised on the menu board. I think the clerk was a bit amused at my enthusiasm.
That's it for Willow's Week. Summer is winding down although the temperature isn't. I hope you have a great weekend and find many many blessings in your days.

What a nice lunch with your friend! I haven't done that in ages.
That would be so fun to have a fair so close to a beach. Sounds like you're at a great location with a number of options nearby.
Smiling at your #5 and the clerk being amused at your reaction. My d-i-l gets excited at finding GF options at food places.
Your lunch and coffee with a friend sounds like a fantastic day. I love doing that.
How sweet of you to offer a hat to older brother. I'm sure he will love it. The yarn is a very pretty pattern.
I miss the beach. We used to live in Florida, but now we are in landlocked Idaho. I haven't been to the beach since my last trip to Florida in 2013, so I am breathing in your description of the county fair. It sounds lovely.
Our regional fair starts next weekend. I look forward to going one evening...though I won't have ocean air charming my nostrils.
Blessings on your weekend,
Patti
All that time we lived in Ventura and then in Camarillo we only went to the fair once. Shame on us. I love that little guys response to your question. Sweet. Hope your weekend is going well and that you are staying cool.
my daughter went from being pescatarian to vegetarian to vegan this past year!! We are having trouble finding vegan options in the ADKS!!!! This was a great list of faves.....fairs, lunches, knitting that people love. Happy weekend!!
Knitting for those who appreciate it is definitely high up in my priority list too! Great list of faves! x
