Happy Pie Day! Are you all eating pie today? It's also Friday, so it's Friday Fave Fives time. The link takes you to Susanne's blog where you can read more about all the Faves in other bloggers' week.
1. Finished! I knitted this afghan for S, our coffee couple friend, for her birthday. It was a fun knit.
2. Family dinner at Olive Garden. Usually, we have family dinners at our home and have everyone bring whatever they want to eat. But last weekend, we decided to enjoy all the yummy food at Olive Garden. One thing we did around the table was everyone telling one thing they did well during the week. Better grades. Work bonus. Things like that.
3. We survived the time change. I'm not a fan of changing our time and clocks. It's been an interesting adjustment, but we are surviving. We do enjoy the light in the evenings.
4. On Monday we drove north to the town of Bellville and enjoyed lunch with our long time friends who we first met in Oregon through our church. I worked with L at the same private Christian school. She was secretary of the elementary school and I taught high school US History classes. The four of us enjoy each other's company and we always have so much to chat about. I'm thankful for long time friendships.
5. Is spring really going to come? Our weather this week has been warm and sunny. And now there are more crocuses hopping up. It looks like I may have daffodils within the next week or two-- if the weather cooperates.
I hope you are having a good day and have some PIE to snack on. Did you get up in the night last night and watch the lunar eclipse? We did! And yes, I'm a bit sleepy now. In a few hours, I will be posting (not so great) photos I took of the eclipse.

Oh, what a lovely afghan! She's going to love love love it. I like your dinner conversation prompt. I had a team lead who did that in our weekly conference call -- each person talks about another person's accomplishment or kindness or help. Very uplifting.
Long friendships are so precious -- so glad you enjoyed your visit in Bellville.
Here's to cooperative weather for spring blooms!
...sadly, I slept through the eclipse.
Your Crocus are beautiful. I love the color. Ours are all blooming now, as well. Glad you had a wonderful week of blessings, Willow.
No pie but my husband made a pastry cookie with a filling that could pass for a hand pie.
This is the first year that I couldn’t seem to recoup that lost hour. Yesterday I took several naps and I slept in this morning and took a nap this afternoon. I do feel I have finally turned the corner. All that sleep from one lost hour!
No pie here but then with our date orientation it would never happen. The afghan is lovely. I didn't get up early enough to see the eclipse - would have had to venture out to get a decent view and .... I don't do early mornings lol. Our clocks don't change until the end of the month and yes I like the lighter evenings but hate losing the hour of sleep. Have a good weekend.
I missed pie day this year. Now I'm craving a pecan pie.
The afghan is beautiful. I'm plugging away at mine and it's going very slowly.
I'm not crazy about the time change either. I just accept it and adjust.
The time change makes the time difference go from 6 to 5 hours for my daughter in France but then they change on March 30 and it's back to 6 hours ahead.
Have a great weekend.
We didn't have pie and we missed the lunar eclipse. Love the finished afghan! We are going to celebrate your birthday in Coeur d'Alene on Monday. :)
haven't seen any sign of my crocuses yet although i have one small green shoot popping up. Today is supposed to be quite warm and tomorrow so maybe they'll really push through.....
We didn't eat pie but we did buy 2 large pizzas (bruschetta and plain mozza) to bring to a friend we are ministering to...he's a widower of a DS daughter in her 30s and we are seeing some decline in her cognitive function. We wanted to bless him with an evening of pizza pie and homemade chocolate brownies and a round of Scrabble to take his mind off things. the blessing was that she recognized us!!! and actually conversed with us a bit. Happy weekend!!
Yes, we had pie! I'll share about that next Friday. My husband, son, and grandson watched the eclipse. I went out about 2 a.m. to see it. That afghan is so pretty. Our daffodils just started blooming. I'd like to plant some crocuses--I think they're usually among the first flowers to pop up. I'm not a fan of the time change, either. I love dinners with the family both home and out. How fun to meet up with long-time friends.
