Barns Local

Sometimes you don't notice the beauty that lives near you.  I walk past these two barns regularly on my daily walks, and often I don't even 'see' them.  They're beauties.

I love the red doors on this grey barn.  The barn is on the Ohio State University campus and used for storing outdoor equipment.

Privately owned red barn that seems somewhat neglected.  Why is the barn door open?

I like barns. I live near a nice one that if anything happened and it was no longer there, it would be missed by the community. The last time I was in Ohio, I visited some cousins and a couple of aunts. As I was driving in the rolling countryside I noticed all the beautiful barns. My aunt was in a residential home in Greenville, Ohio.

I like barns too Willow, we have many unique ones in Wisconsin.

...could it be that when the horses left the barn, they didn't think to close the door?

I love the red doors on the first one. The other one does seem a bit run-down. A lot of the barns around here are falling to pieces.

Willow, I really enjoy barns...especially old ones...too. The dairy farm that I grew up on was sold a few years ago and all of the old outdoor buildings including the barn were torn down, as well as the two-story brick farmhouse that was built in 1886. We drove by there today and although the new owner has built a beautiful new home and replaced the old buildings with a new garage I was so pleased to see that the one building that remains the same is the original milkhouse. Oh...and they kept the old silos. But I miss seeing the barns.
