Another Friday

Another week, another Friday Fave Five.  After eighty-eight weeks of participating in FFF, I still look forward to posting on Fridays.  Thank you, Susanne, for your faithful hosting of Friday Fave Five!

1. There are few things more fun than spending a Saturday with a best buddy doing what we love to do: lunch out, a long walk on the beach, coffee at a newly discovered coffee bar.  While we were sipping our coffees on the outdoor patio, I noticed this:

How cool is that?  A Mercedes-Benz bicycle!  Evidently, the Beverly Hills police use these bikes to cycle around the streets and hand out parking tickets.  The man who owns the bike kindly allowed me to photograph it and try it out and he even took my picture!

2. Just in time for Mother's Day, another friend sent me a lovely package filled with her hand made soap.  She knows I prefer her lavender scented soaps to any others. She has recently developed a formula for  shea butter soap.

3. On Mother's Day, all my children checked in during the day to wish me a 'Happy Mother's Day'.

4. The Professor asked what I wanted to do and I debated, oh maybe ten seconds, before declaring that a drive down Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu Gardens Nursery was my idea of a perfect Sunday afternoon in May.

5.  Home cooked meals. Fortunately The Professor and I like eating leftovers which means that we cook only a few nights during the week and then we choose what leftovers (soup, stir fry, crockpot meal) we want the rest of the time.  Because most of our food comes from our local farmers market, we're loving our fresh flavorful meals (even on the second or third days!).

I've  shared Willow's Week with you.  Please leave a comment and share one happy, thoughtful, delightful event in your week. You can also join us at Susanne's blog to link up with other FFF blog post.

Have a happy weekend!

Willow - sounds like you never quit cooking for "the family" either! That's how I cook too! Make a BATCH! We don't mind the leftovers a 3rd day either! :)

That lavender soap LOOKS heavenly - I bet it smells that way too!

That garden center looks miiiiighty inviting!

Oh you do look good on that Mercedes bicycle!! Glad you had a relaxing day on Sunday and went to the garden...
I love leftovers!

Beverly Hills WOULD have Mercedes for their traffic cops.

Laurie's soaps are sooo wonderful! Hoorah for her!

Some meals are better the second day. Stew, beans, some soups need to mellow and blend their flavors to achieve perfection. I love leftovers. When I was single I used to cook up one big meal a week and eat leftovers all week long. I'd be sick of whatever it was by Friday night, and Saturday, I'd start the next big meal plans. It's not possible to make stew for one person for one meal.

88 weeks you've stuck with me! How awesome is that!

Love the pic of you on the police bike. I had no idea Mercedes Benz made bikes. Now that is a classy ride. :v)

My mom always made enough for leftovers too and passed that on to me. I'm lucky in that even my teens will eat left overs, sometimes even for breakfast.

The garden visit is my idea of a lovely Mother's Day afternoon too! Sounds like your week was great!

That sounds like a wonderful weekend! I love the picture of you with the bike ;) And those meals sound lovely -- we're big fans of the bounty of our local farmer's market, too!

Mmmm..lavender!

Glad to hear you had a good Mother's Day. Love that drive down the Pacific Coast highway.

Cooking a few nights and dining off leftovers is what we'll be looking at once this last boy goes off to college...

Happy weekend!

Mercedes Benz bikes? My word! Somehow it does seem appropriate, though. Do you find with the lavender that the mosquitoes leave you alone? When I was using a lavender scented lotion one summer, I didn't have any problem with mosquito bites. It was a nice side effect.

That's fun you got to try out the bike. Thanks for sharing all the other nice things of the week - scented soap, good home cooking, a relaxing drive with beautiful sights. Have a good week!

One wonderful thing that happened to me this week was a great conversation with my sis, Kirsten, in Norway. We spent about 1 hour chatting and had some delightful times. I am not particularly fond of the phone, but when it's your sis all the way east and north, well, then it's AWESOME!!!!
We are planning my trip to the "old" country next summer. Perhaps also a cruise to Eastern Europe?? We'll see.

Unfortunately, mine likes my shed too much....I've got to take it our for a good exercise;, the bike, not me..

You are so cute! I think that soap sounds wonderful and I wish I could go to the farmer's market in your town with you! It's funny that I planned on eating leftovers tonight too... the fridge is full of them, so it's a free-for-all! I'm glad you had a good Mother's Day too. I should have sent you a card because you're one of my favorite Mom friends!!!

Hey, you asked me if I was going to vacation on my island this summer? You at least got the idea...I think I will be a bit more resourceful...
Nice bike photo...So cute!!
That's how I cook...big meals and lots of leftovers.

That was pretty daring...asking for a ride on the bike! But you only live once, right?

My nice moment, was when I was driving home from a doctor appointment at 5:30 p.m. I suddenly remembered there was a rose garden nearby. Should I stop or not? I needed to get home to start dinner.
I decided to stop...and smell the roses. Forget dinner. (It was a lot of fun forgetting dinner.)

I did take some pictures...and they are posted at the tail end of my recent post.

Nice bike and to see you.
Emergency crews using bikes to get to casualties who are waiting for ambulances here in London now and some police ones. A muchbetter way to get around the traffic.

I saw the Beverly Hills and LA police on bikes! In fact an LA police woman gave the Philly "gogi" truck a tickets as he was about a foot over the red line.

I wish I was able to see more of LA other than our whirlwind one day trip with Bertolli. Hopefully I'll be able to come back again sometime in the future.I would have loved to visit those museums on Museum Mile!
