I stand in awe at the man hours required to create such beauty. Were the stone carvers happy in their work? Did they feel satisfaction and pride in their skill and artistry? Was one perhaps a frustrated sculptor who wanted to do statues, but was stuck doing capitals? The stories behind these things just fascinate me.

Wouldn't it be marvelous to have such a villa on the hills overlooking the sea to call one's own? Yes, I'm dreaming again it seems!
