That was Fast

Wow, that was a fast week.  Weather went from frigid with rain (California style) to pleasant and sunny.  I feel like I hardly had time to breathe.  But Friday is here and I can stop and take some slow breaths and focus my brain on the bright spots.  Here are my Friday Fave Fives:

1.  I knitted a pair of fingerless gloves and posted a photo of them on facebook.  It made me really happy that so many people commented about them and 'liked' them.

And they're warm and comfortable, too.

2.  This Christmas carol.  In the Bleak Midwinter sung by Gloucester Cathedral Choir.  Thanks for sharing, Sara!

3.  Christmas break! Yay!  Last class and last tutoring session for 2013.  I am looking forward to a restful time.

4.  My students always love the last class day before Christmas because they know they will be given these lollypops:

It's fun to see their excitement at receiving such a simple gift.

5.  In turn, my students love to give little gifts, too.  I arrived home with oh so many cookies.  It must be the year for cookies, all kinds--chocolate chip, white chocolate and cranberry, chocolate with sprinkles, and on and on...  I think I'm going to need to throw a cookie eating party to share all. the. cookies.

Happy Third Week of Advent!

Happy Christmas break, Linda :) I have had classical Christmas music stations on every day lately and will check out the link you shared. Thanks! A cookie eating party sounds like fun! My youngest daughter is getting together with some women from her husband's side of the family to make cookies all day Saturday for their family cookie exchange. [I bet they eat some, too :)] I have four crocheted wreath ornaments finished and hope to complete more in the weeks ahead. Happy third week of Advent to you, as well :)

What are the lollipops? You have me in the mood for cookies now! I'm just finishing my cards and haven't started to bake. It was really smart to put your blue gloves on an orange background - the color pops!

Yes I love those gloves too. They are great for busy fingers.

It's always nice when school is winding down for Christmas break--except about the part one cannot teach very well at this time. But I have to remember that its a good time to enjoy my students on a different level.

Ooh! I love those mitts - are they your own pattern? I have a polar fleece pair like that that I wear a lot this time of year, but handknitted is so much better. I'm glad that you made it to your break and I hope it is restful and restorative!

The fingerless gloves are great ! I only wear those because it keeps my hands warm and I still can handle my camera without problems. There is a cover attached which I can pull over my fingers when I have finished.
Today was aqua gym again, but nobody fell in the pool, lol !

And how fast did the days pass since your post and I hadn't commented! I, too, am really looking forward to a break. How lovely that you had such a fun cookie-send-off from the students.
