In the Winter

Happy Winter and Happy Friday!  It's time for Friday Fave Fives.  I am popping in quickly to post as I take a break from packing my suitcase and packing the car.

1.  Winter Solstice.  Yes, now it's winter, but since we passed the solstice (yestserday!), the days will begin again to have more and longer light.  Cold and dark are not my favorites, but if the days are brighter, I can stand the cold In The Winter.

2.  Raspberry sorbet.  Knowing I don't eat ice cream, my granddaughter reminded her mom to get Meema some sorbet for a treat.  Wasn't that thoughtful?  Why I am eating frozen sorbet In the Winter?

3.  Coupons for the craft store to buy yarn and needles.  I keep knitting and running out of yarn!  On to my next pair of socks...  Socks are best knit In The Winter.

4.  Morning coffee.  In The Winter.

5.  Night time tea.  In The Winter.

Are you ready for Christmas??
(I'm not!  But December Twenty-Fifth is coming anyway!)

Happy Happy Christmas to you ALL.

Since your packing I assume that means you're coming home for Christmas? Hope you have a safe trip!

That's my favorite part of the winter solstice - besides the fact that it's our anniversary - the fact that technically the daylight starts lasting longer. Even though I don't really see it for a few more weeks, knowing that it's happening boosts mys spirits.

How sweet of your granddaughter to remember a treat that you can eat!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Ready or not here it comes. I suppose it was kind of the same with Mary and Joseph...ready or not here comes Jesus! So glad God sent Him to us.

Aww how sweet that your granddaughter remembered what you don't eat and thought of you for an alternative. Sometimes you just gotta eat what doesn't make sense. My daughter wants ice cream cake for her birthday coming up and it's freezing and snowing for 2 days here. I'm ready and I'm not for Christmas this year.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Finally I am almost ready ! I don't know why Christmas has always been such a hectic time, except when I was a child, but then probably my mother was complaining !

YES I am ready for Christmas early this year! I truly think it is because i am more of an empty nester now and don't have to go to all the orchestra concerts and ballet shows, etc. hahaha. Although i miss those things.

i wrote about coffee too and WHY are you eating sorbet in winter?? Actually ice cream is something i only eat now once in a great while as I've given up most dairy but sometimes i do crave it even in winter!!

Have a safe trip back to the west coast and a very Merry Christmas to you and the prof!!

We had a storm forecast so we moved our Christmas Day festivities to Boxing Day. It worked better actually since my youngest son had the day off. So we'll just pretend that tomorrow is Christmas :)

Hope you have a lovely Christmastime Willow!

Comfort food and a great cup of tea are the best in winter! Your list is perfect :)

I'm always excited when we can say the days will begin to lengthen again. I dislike going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark ...

Glad your granddaughter is concerned for your needs! That is a blessing.

Coffee is a blessing. In the Winter.

I understand ice cream sales don't flag all that much in the winter ;-)

Hope your Christmas was lovely indeed.

And a happy Christmas to you, as well! And also a happy winter solstice - my favorite holiday of the year. The light is coming back :)
