June's Fourth Week

Hello, Friday.  First week of summer 2022.  We have been enjoying the long slow sunsets of summer solstice time.  Here are my Friday Fave Fives where I slow down and ponder the blessings of the week.  Click on THIS LINK to join Susanne and the rest of us in being thankful.

1.  Oh my, it has been hot here.  I am so thankful for air conditioning!

2.  Our extra grandsons are still here.  But they have found an apartment that will accommodate both of them AND their parents who are arriving next month.  And jobs, they are getting jobs.

3.  We truly enjoy having the 'boys' here.  I tell them I am taking advantage of their strong muscles to do the hard stuff around here.  Last night, they cut up all the branches The Professor lobbed off the over growing tree.  It would have taken us hours to do that.  The 'boys' finished in less than a half hour.

4.  We celebrated Father's Day with family dinner in a small local restaurant that serves both Greek and Indian food.  Yum-yum!  Win-win!

5.  Father's Day.  Yes, what would Fave Fives be without my mentioning how thankful I am for The Professor?  He does it all.  Makes salads.  Does the dishes.  Manages the finances.  Pays the bills.  Makes the bed.  Goes grocery shopping.  Sacrifices his time for his family.  Chauffeurs the grandkids everywhere.  Leads Bible studies.  And he does all this being 'retired'.

This is still my favorite photo of him even though it is decades old.  The Professor sitting on the steps of our bush house in the village of Mouyeba, Papua, Indonesia.

What are you thankful for this week?

Great picture of your young husband. Sound like he had a nice Father's Day. So glad that your week has been a good one. It's nice that your grandsons are there and that they can help you out. I hope you have a good weekend. See you again next time!

California level hot? I smile when my UK or Canadian friends say 80s is HOT.

Yes, we are all thankful for AC. Well done for those boys for finding jobs. And that they'll still be nearby to receive some grandmothering.

A lovely tribute to your all around great (and retired!) husband!

It's not been hot enough for central air here until today although we'll probably keep it off until tomorrow and Sunday when it's supposed to be in the 90s.

yay for your grandsons getting jobs and their own apartments. that's wonderful. and i'm glad they could help out with chores.

Your husband does everything I do on top of teaching full time! (although my husbandk does do the yard work and helps with groceries sometimes)>

love the pic of him!!

happy weekend...stay cool and thanks for keeping me in prayer regarding this sinus problem. Don't know if it's allergies or infection that has lingered. Yikes. Will be so glad to see my PCP on Tuesday.

Glad you have AC - it's been hot here but we have to resort to opening windows and turning on fans lol. Good news about the "boys" finding an apartment and jobs. You have a wonderful hubby. Enjoy your weekend.

He's a great helpmate for sure. Sounds like a yummy Father's day meal. How nice that the strong young men are willing to work hard! We are so thankful for air!! Today's the warmest day this year which will be beat on Monday with a forecast of 92! Happy weekend to you.

What a great picture and memory for both of you! Wow, lots of help for you from "the boys". Exciting that their parents arriving is coming soon. We haven't had to use AC yet, thank goodness. But I'm sure thankful for it when we do need it.
