Busy and Blessed

It's Friday (night) and time for Friday Fave Fives.  I had planned to have my FFFs up and running early this morning, but, as usual, life got busy.  Finally, I have a bit of time to just sit and reflect back on the past week and all the blessings.

1.  We have moved on from Fourth of July weekend, but we loved our times on the back patio with family.  We enjoyed a bonfire, various meals and some s'mores.  I am so thankful to be living so near to our daughters so we can just text and say, "Come on over!"

2.  Trail Life.  Both grandsons are part of our local Trail Life troop (like Boy Scouts with church connections).  This week was 'crossover', a time of recognizing each troop member and 'graduating' those who are moving up to the next age level.  They literally cross a local walking bridge and are greeted by all the other boys and leaders.

3.  Our honeybees are doing great!  The 'bee guy' visited our hives this week and we enjoyed watching him do the inspecting.

4.  The bees are loving all the flowers.  That's probably why they are thriving and seem so 'busy'.

And the butterflies are happy, too.

5.  Our extended family, the ones we unofficially 'adopted' years ago from Los Angeles and who moved here to Ohio after we did, have added a new little one to our 'tribe'.  We got to meet little L this week! (posting with permission)  We each got to hold him!  Welcome, L!

So, that's Willow's Week here.  Busy but overflowing with Blessings!

Aw...congrats on the new little one. So precious!!

I love having my daughters in the same area....for all the reasons you do, too!

YAY for the birds, butterflies and blooms. I saw a gorgeous butterfly at the lake the other day but didn't grab my phone in time to snatch a shot.

Sounds like a wonderful week of good blessings

We're very thankful to have most of our kids here, too. It's nice to have impromptu get-togethers, as well as the planned ones. Yay for a sweet new little one and healthy, thriving bees and Trail Life. Glad you had a nice 4th!

What a wonderful week! How exciting to. have a little one close by. So sweet. I've always wanted to have honey bees but don't have the space. What a wonderful tradition for your grandson. It's so important for children to have that right of passage. I think, even more so for boys.

I enjoyed reading your week of blessings, Willow. I loved hearing about the group that your grandsons are a part of and the ceremony that they go through when they graduate and crossover the bridge. Aren't bees amazing to watch? At one time in our previous location, we had over 100 hives, and we would rent them out to the orchards in the area. We always had an abundance of honey and also sold some of it. They are fascinating to watch. The only honeybees that we found to be extremely aggressive were the Italian honeybees. I love the way little L has his hand up shielding his face. :)
