Ventura Beach and Pier
This little guy had just been caught by a fisherman and was looking for a way back to the water. I wonder if he ended up as a crab cake.
I did not notice until I uploaded the photo that his leg is tangled in some fishing line.
Taken from at least 15 feet away.
Thanks to Anne at nikkipolani for identifying the purple flower. "That little lavender flower is called "wallflower" or Erysimum Cheiri." I knew that if anyone would know the name it would be Anne!
Great shots Willow and hey I didn't see one date :0) or was that the next day...
Those are great seagull pictures.
Poor little crab!
Great pictures! I love all the seagull shots - aren't they neat?
You are having fun with that camera!! Great shots.
Wallflower...of course, that's what the flowers was on your last post, Willow! Thanks to Anne our resident gardener in blogland for always being in the know about these things. :o) LOVE the photos today, sweet taste of feathered friends by the sea...and squirrel too--not often I've seen a squirrel at the beach... at least not here in Norway--LOL! Happy Day ((HUGS))
Great photos, Willow! I especially like the squirrel one!
I've been so busy, and I'm running so behind with all of my reading and commenting, that I totally forgot to tell you that there is an award for you on Saturdays post!!
I hope that crab did not end up in crab cake!!
I love your photos so much. They always bring a smile to my face. You have such a talent.
Oh, that crab is gorgeous, Willow! I'm not nearly as knowledgeable on flowers as you think -- but I happen to have some wallflowers ;-)
I'm stuck thinking about the Pigeon! Great shots...each and every one!
Excellent photos. Happy Cinco De Mayo and Happy Boy's Day
Crab as crab cake doesn't bother me at all...the pigeon, now that's another story. It is so hard to rescue a pigeon from fishing line, but if you don't try you feel bad.
Ignorance in this case was bliss, wasn't it?
Great photos! I hope that pigeon is okay!
THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME TO PARTICIPATE IN OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY AND I SAW A COMMENT YOU MADE AND I HAD TO SEE WHO WILLOW WAS. I LOVE THE DIFFERENT NAMES OF BLOGS.
I READ BRIEFLY THROUGH YOUR BLOG AND I LOVE IT AND ALL THE PICTURES.
MY DIL IS A HEAD START TEACHER IN OKLAHOMA. SHE LOVES BEING A TEACHER BUT ESPECIALLY WITH HEAD START. SHE VOLUNTERED AS A HELPER WHEN SHE WAS GOING TO COLLEGE. I COME FROM A FAMILY OF TEACHERS. WONDERFUL PROFESSION BUT I BECAME A NURSE...WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPIER A TEACHER.
LOVE YOUR BLOG
What lovely shots. I think the brown and white gulls are the juveniles who have yet to have the sleekness of the adult plumage. That crab is amazing- lovely colours- I hope he made his trip back to the sea.
What a lovely squirrel. Sadly the red squirrels at Formby have been hit by squirrel pox and their numbers are wiped out. I have a soft spot for them thanks to Beatrix Potter and her illustrations in Squirrel Nutkin.
Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos.
The seagulls delight me!
Great photos Willow! I feel sorry for the pigeon and the crab.
It was wonderful being away to see my grandson for the week ...he is such a good baby and it was nice to see my son and d-i-l's wonderful parenting skills. I miss them already!
Those ocean shots were so nice... I could almost feel it... sorry for the bird with the fishing line tangled around its leg... I suppose it could still fly...
