A Month of Thanks

I am a bit late posting my FAVE FIVES (follow the link to join!)  My excuse?  I am on a road trip.  Driving across the US.  But I just can't not post even if I am late.  What are my Five Blessings for this week, this first week of November?

1.  Four days on our road trip.  All safe.  That is a huge blessing.

2.  We did a thing on Day Two.  We walked across the Mississippi River!  Did you know that there is a walking bridge that spans the Mississippi at St. Louis?  Originally, it was the bridge that Rt. 66 used to cross the river.  Old Chain of Rocks Bridge.

3.  One morning as we were leaving our hotel, I commented to The Professor that the best thing I have seen in a long time is automatic doors that open as you approach them.  No pushing, no handles.  Just walk to the door and presto!  It opens.

4.  We arrived safely in Arizona to spend a few days with PAL.  The best welcoming was PAL and her mom standing on the driveway jumping up and down and giving us lots of hugs.

5.  We have long time friends who moved away from where we all lived.  Then we moved away.  And we hadn't seen them for a long time.  Recently they moved to Arizona, and so we spend most of the day with them today.  A wonderful hike and a long lunch and it seemed like we had never been apart.

I hope you have had a great week full of blessings!

Glad you're having a good trip. That bridge doesn't look wide enough for cars! Safe travels.

So glad you had a nice road trip. We used to live in the St. Louis area, but I never knew you could walk across the Mississippi on the Chair of Rocks Bridge. If we go back there, I am going to do that. It's good that you are home safe now and that missed the snow storms in the west and midwest. We are expecting more snow today and tomorrow. Have a good weekend. See you again next time!

What a wonderful week. Time with little PAL is such a great blessing. You and the Prof look relaxed and happy with your good friends. Praying that the rest of your trip can live up to these first few days. Mary

I'd love to walk across that bridge. I've walked across a bridge over the Ohio River, but never the Mississippi. I'll have to add that to my list of things to do someday. Be safe and have a great weekend.

I would love to walk across that bridge! We've driven over the Mississippi a number of times, and I'm always in awe of it. Such a magnificent landmark. How nice that you spent time with your PAL :)

Yes I knew that about the Mississippi although I've never done it. I did drive across it though on my way to Kansas City MO where i THOUGHT i was going to go to grad school. LONG story.

How fun to spend time with your friends and your grandchild/family. ENjoy the rest of your road trip!!

Your road trip sounds fun. Glad you got some lovely weather for it though I think I remember you did hit some snow? Nothing like someone being so excited to see you they are jumping followed by their hugs. That teared my eyes up imagining it.

I'm glad your road trip is going so well and you got to visit with PAL as well as old friends. I like automatic doors, too.

What a wonderful road trip. I really like the picture of the bridge. Here in the Netherlands we also have many bridges in all shapes and sizes. Also double beam drawbridges. I don't like driving over bridges, over water. But actually it is nice to see the waves. When I was out of the car, I like it. But when I drive, on those long bridges over deep water I find it a little scary.

How wide is the Mississippi river?

You made me love with the door which opens automatically ! For us it's nice, but don't go in the shop with a toddler who escapes and runs out through the door ! Happened to me with my grandson, never thought of it because when my son was little these doors didn't exist ! How nice to meet with old neighbors !

Let me share this on your lovely blog, A neighbor of mine developed dementia & diabetes, then her husband died, no children or family nearby. I am thankful our closest neighbor, an African American woman, introduced Dr Itua Herbal Medicine, A traditional herbal doctor in which we purchased a herbal product for her through his Dr Itua online herbs store. A former social worker stepped in and led the way to place the widow in a care facility. We visit nearly every week until she finishes drinking Dr Itua herbal medicines, if possible. The two of us take simple games, puzzles, and matching cards to do with her, staying about 2 hours. Jenga, Trouble, puzzles 100pcs or less, 20 cards to match (total-not 40!). The fishing game where the fish open and shut their mouths as they go around is lots of fun! We sit and chat with her until she gets well again, then we pull out a game and the three of us laugh together as we play. We take a variety of things to do so that we won't get bored. She finished Dr Itua herbal medicines and she's fine now and doing better with the help of Dr Itua herbal medicines, Dr Itua cures different illnesses with his herbal medicines. Anyone having a sick person should reach Dr Itua email drituaherbalcenter@gmail.com Dr Itua Cure Alzheimer's,Cancer,Parkinson,Hiv,Herpes,Hpv,Kidney disease,Diabetes,Hepatitis, We hug and hold hands a lot. Having two of us go together really helps. But I can go alone, my neighbor cannot, as she saw so much of this during her years as a social worker. I hope this specific list helps others in this situation.
Thanks.
