Friday Fave Five

Coming up on Friday again! I have spent some time again this week, thinking about what good things have happened since last Friday, and have chosen my Fave Five. If you want to join in or read more Fave Fives, go to Living To Tell The Story.

1. I am loving summer! Quiet mornings with no rushing to jump in the car and get to work on time. A sense of slow rhythm in my days-knitting, reading, gardening, sharing quality time with friends. In fact, it has been such a laid back week, the only photos I've taken are the ones of the fiber and yarn in the previous post. That's laid back, for sure!

2. July 4th. Dinner with friends. Eating holiday food on their patio. Thankful for the safety and stability of our country.
3. Sunday morning coffee with Blueberry Lady and her Blueberry Farmer.

4. A pleasant morning spent with a relatively new friend, spinning at her house.

5. Son #2 came for Sunday night dinner-barbequed salmon and corn on the cob (fresh from the Saturday Farmers Market).
6. I have to add one more! Getting our phone service and internet back after a day without. A technology free day was good, but I'm glad it didn't last longer than that.

A truly wonderful low key week! How was yours?

You are sounding so relaxed in this lovely leisurely list ;-) We had delicious sweet fresh corn, too. Isn't it wonderful!

I love summer mornings also. I had a friend who spun wool from her own sheep. It was really neat.

Knitting and spinning...I thought you were my friend Suzanne at first! All sounds very relaxing - the way life should be!

Sounds real good for you to be able to putter a bit instead of race around!! Enjoy...
I'm looking forward to something a little more low key but I don't know if it's going to be happening anytime soon. Looks like I'll be flying to LA for a funeral soon. My sister's MIL is in her last hours...

How wonderful that you have a friend to spin with. I can't seem to get my fibery friends hooked on spinning but I'm still trying. BTW, I love your Baby Surprise Jacket. I might have to knit one of those for the upcoming grandbaby.

Hello,

I saw the link from Barbara's as the name "Willow" stands out.

A charming blog you have. My fave five would be:

1)THIS week, realising how much I enjoy my work and my dedication to doing the best, God willing.
2) Feeling blessed - nothing new but it feels new everyday.
3) Remembering that work can't take over and that a nod to health is needed.
4) Similar to the above - running, planning on rediscovering it.
5) After years of insomnia I developed into a decent sleeper and earlier riser - feels good!

I really enjoy this weekly review :)

Meals eaten on the patio - that's a fav for me too. Food just tastes better when eaten outside. Why - I have no idea - LOL

What a lovely, leisurely, summery list! We love salmon, but I have never barbecued it. Do you place it right on the grill or on a plank or in a basket? I love to barbecue corn on the cob; do you do that as well?

You've listed what summer is all about, as far as I'm concerned.

You made me jealous with your trip to Solvang. My son is reading Les Miserable this summer for his summer assignment for Honors English. PCPA was performing Les Mis in Solvang until today, I think. I had planned to take him....but oh well. Paige and I saw it in Santa Maria in May and loved it!

Thanks for asking - ours was an excellent week. And because we're almost halfway thru winter, the days are getting longer again!

I think I would have put the internet up on my fav 5 too if I was in your position. It's amazing how so easily reliant we get on technology.

Ooo spinning sounds so relaxing.
