Last of June/First of July

It's July 1st and June Gloom is still here. The weather hasn't looked at the calender yet.

Even the jacaranda trees are blooming late.

I love walking across the grass strewn with spent purple blossoms.

Oh now...I haven't walked across anything but my deck to the trashcan!! Well at least I'm going up and down a lot of stairs. Tomorrow we get delivery on our new double oven. I miss our walks. It's been very sunny and warm here. We're having a 4th of July bbq here on Saturday so maybe I'll dust a couple rooms or something :0)
Miss you my friend. Hope you are having good relaxing and organizing times....

I love the jacaranda's too. They are just finishing in our area.

In answer to your question...Pasadena City College. (easier on the finances-for general ed) I'm not sure where he'll go after that. Part of it depends on how well he does.

Are jacarandas fragrant? What a fun word to say! Jacaranda by the veranda with Carmen Miranda riding a panda. Jacaranda!

Our street is lined with jacarandas but they are not full bloom yet. I know what you mean about those lawns strewn with a layer of lavender blooms.

Hi Willow, I haven't counted exactly, but I think our "book only" box count is around 60...possibly more now that I've included most our cookbooks. I did count a while back, but at this point, random books are being tossed in with other things as I find them. It's amazing how many books we've got!

To answer one of your older questions, I'm spinning CVM on one wheel and chocolate brown Shetland on the other. I know soon I will have to pack those too, I'm just not ready yet!

My sister and her family used to live in Redlands, and the jacaranda trees were so beautiful there this time of year. We're still on vacation, and I hate to think how hot it must be at home. I imagine that the crepe myrtles are the only bit of color left.
