Another Week of Winter

Hello!  It's Friday! Susanne hosts Friday Fave Fives and I love joining.  It makes me always be more thoughtful through the days, watching for those thankful moments.  Here is Willow's Week on a snowy day.

1.  Our microwave died (nope, that's not the fave).  As soon as our older daughter heard about our household disaster, she said, "No problem!  I have one in the garage that came from my rental house."  So... thanks to her, we have had a working microwave while we look for a replacement for ours.

2.  On Sunday, we took a drive in the county south of us.  The roads were clear and it was wonderful to see a new area.  I wrote a blog post with several photos if you want to see more snow covered barns and old houses.

3.  After our drive, we met the family for a winter hike at the arboretum. There, too, the paved trails and roads were clear.  It was great to get out and have a walk.

4.  The weather outside is frightful!  Snow!  I am thankful that we have a warm house and warm clothes.  And even occasional sunshine!

5.  Another blanket story.   Little Warrior (our younger grandson) loves his 'meema blanket'.  Evidently a doggie (who no longer lives in the house) loved it, too, and chewed holes in it.  Meema to the rescue.  Honestly, sometimes I wondered if the worst of the damage could be repaired.  But I persisted.  The blanket is back home on LW's bed.

I really enjoyed your pictures today. Though I'm not thrilled with being in the snow, it really does make for some beautiful photography. I love the knitting pattern in your header photo. So pretty.

Personally, remembering much more snow, here, in the past.... I am happy to see this return of snow, in the upper NE of the US.

I am sorry for those, who do not usually have it, of course!

But here, it is back to normal.

Even though I don't care to go out in it. -smile-

Such a good Meema! Glad you got out when you could. We got a light inch and a half of new snow overnight but roads are still driveable. Yippee for a temporary microwave. Have a good weekend.

We so rarely have snow in the South West, and I do enjoy looking at photos of white!

Oh what a good Meema you are. Snow is lovely and very pictureque, until you have to get out and about in it lol. Enjoy your weekend.

I love walking in the woods on a snowy day!! Today it snowed lightly here all day with only an inch of accumulation but i stayed inside today as I'm hiking tomorrow!!

Love your pic and love that you could fix the blanket.

Have a cozy weekend!

So glad you are safe and sound even with all the snow. Stay safe.

The snow pictures are lovely. You are a talented knitter to be able to fix a blanket like that. I'm not a knitter and have attempted a couple, but they don't look at all the same!

Your snow pics are lovely. I wish I was as enthusiastic about seeing snow as I used to be. My first winter here in Tennessee, I was out taking photos of snow falling. My neighbors probably thought I was nuts. This winter has been different. Your knitting in your header is so pretty. I'm trying to learn but my stitches just don't look very good.

I would have got a nervous breakdown without Microwave ! I do everything with it. Our snow lasted exactly 3 days and the cold too, now we have real warm temperatures and sunshine spring is in the air, but a little early !

Love the "Meema Blanket" story, Linda. So sweet. Looking at your snowy photos of Ohio makes me a bit homesick. Of all the places I've lived, and even though I'm originally from Illinois, Ohio remains "home" to me. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Nancy

The countryside with snow makes such peaceful pictures. Meema to the rescue. Wonderful that you are so close by now that that can easily happen. Handy that your daughter had a microwave for the interim. Saved you from having to immediately run out in the colder weather to shop.

That's great your daughter had a microwave available when yours went out. That was so neat you could repair your grandson's blanket.
